Mike McDonald was born in Boston, Massachusetts. First receiving a VHS camera at the age of ten, he has been making films ever since. During college he directed four student films. Since moving to Los Angeles in 2014 he has directed four additional films. He also works in the editorial field having worked on major productions such as By The Sea (2015), The Space Between Us (2017) and Magnum P.I. (2023).
