Ssanjay Tripaathy is an Indian writer and director. He holds a BSc. Hons degree from the University of Delhi. A versatile individual, he started his career as a science writer with India Today group magazine "Computers Today" in 1994.

He switched to Television medium in 1996 and produced and directed special news features on science, art, and culture for Doordarshan prime time news. Later, he started his own production banner named Pulse Media Pvt Ltd. in 1998.

Under this banner, Ssanjay produced and directed India's most celebrated science show "Turning Point" for the National Television. In 2000, he produced and directed 3 shows for Zee Tv's edutainment venture Zed Tv.

In 2006, Tripaathy made a shift to International Tv channels and created top rated shows for Discovery Channel which include "Healing Touch" and "Golden Temple". He also created shows like "Womb of the World"--an Asian Television award-winning documentary in 2010, e created shows like Womb of the World - an Asian Television Award winning Documentary in 2010, "India's Mega Kitchens", and "Inside: Tirumala Tirupati", for National Geographic Channel.

He also created "The Wedding Business" and various shows for other international channels like BBC World, Al-Jazeera (English), and Network 10 Australia.

Ssanjay subsequently produced and directed various docu-drama films for some of the biggest corporate and government agencies of India, ACC, Asian paints, Blue Star, ONGC, GAIL, and Dept of Science and Technology, among others. He also ventured into fiction and drama by producing and creatively supervising 200 odd episodes for a popular Marathy daily soap Antarpaat for Star Pravah (Star Network's Marathi Channel).

His credentials kept increasing as he wrote & directed 52 episodes of National television's one of the most critically and commercially successful series "HUM" (the much-publicized sequel of "HUM Log", India's first daily soap, for Doordarshan National Network).

In 2013-14, he wrote and directed his first feature film, "Club 60". This critically-acclaimed film completed 150 days of run in a Mumbai Theatre and went on to receive many nominations in various Award shows and won the popular Screen award for Best ensemble cast and Best actress in drama category by Star-Big FM award. It is one of the most watched film on Star Gold and holds a respected 7.5 rating on IMDb.

In 2015, he wrote and created a highly acclaimed Medical drama "Ek nayee umeed- Roshni" for Star Tv which was termed by critics as India's answer to "Grey's Anatomy". From 2016 until the present, he has been creating, writing and directing various features.

Sanjay was the man behind Vishwanathan Anand's Biopic for Netflix. He also wrote and directed a short feature film "Mann Bairagi" on Prime Minister Modi's teenage life, produced and presented by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Mahaveer Jain. He recently wrote and directed a heartwarming family film "Binny & Family" to be released worldwide in August 2024.
