Lennon Stella

My Old Ass Cast & Character Guide
Image
The cast of My Old Ass features some major movie stars and a few up-and-coming actors, and they all worked together to tell a great coming-of-age story. My Old Ass tells the story of Elliott (Maisy Stella), a girl who is about to go to college who gets some unexpected advice from an unexpected source: an older version of herself, played by Aubrey Plaza. With a Rotten Tomatoes score of 90%, My Old Ass is a better performance from Plaza than Megalopolis, the recent Francis Ford Coppola film. A large part of that quality is due to the stellar performances and chemistry of the film's small cast.

As with any coming-of-age film, My Old Ass relies on the performances of its lead actors to make its characters sympathetic and believable. Luckily, both Stella and Plaza were more than up to the task, which is likely why reviews of My Old Ass have been so favorable.

Madi Diaz Enlists Lennon Stella for Duet ‘One Less Question’
Image
Madi Diaz has enlisted singer-actress Lennon Stella for the blissful duet “One Less Question.”

Written by Diaz, Stella, and Kate York, the serene track is overflowing with melody, as Diaz and Stella trade verses across an acoustic guitar that softly builds. “Are we flesh and bone?/Are we just a dream?” Diaz sings. “Are we lost or found?/Or somewhere in between?”

According to Diaz, the song is about how real love requires no wondering. “How it feels when you know in your whole body that this person is in your life to stay,...

Maisy Stella joins Ewan McGregor, Anne Hathaway, David Robert Mitchell on mysterious Bad Robot project
Image

Nashville wrapped up back in 2018, and six years later Maisy Stella returned to the acting world with her first film, the comedy My Old Ass, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year and sees Stella sharing the screen with Aubrey Plaza (they’re pictured together below). Amazon MGM Studios will be giving My Old Ass a limited theatrical release in the U.S. on August 2nd – and while we wait for that, Variety reports that Stella has landed her second film role. She is joining previously announced cast members Ewan McGregor and Anne Hathaway in a mysterious...

You May as Well Start Listening to Jp Saxe Now, Because He's About to Be a Huge Deal
Louis Tomlinson
One of the most beautiful things about music is how you can continuously tie artists together and find new music by following the web of musicians. That's how I found Jp Saxe, and oh my good lord, you guys, I need you to come along on this journey with me. The singer just released his first Ep, Hold It Together, and it's one of the most honest and lovely collections of songs I think I've ever heard.

I stumbled upon Jp through a few of his labelmates (Louis Tomlinson and Greyson Chance) and saw him in concert when he opened for Noah Kahan. I may have been new to Jp, but he had me sold when he ever so politely scolded the audience at the show for being rude during his set. Whereas some artists might have pitched a fit that the crowd was talking during their set, Jp was...

Lennon and Maisy Stella's Sisterly Bond Is Pretty Stellar
Lennon and Maisy Stella are some of the cutest sisters in the music industry. The 20-year-old and 15-year-old musicians, respectively, got their big break playing sisters on Nashville back in 2012, and have been giving us sweet glimpses of their bond ever since. You might remember obsessing over their covers of Charli Xcx's "Boom Clap" and Robyn's "Call Your Girlfriend" on YouTube.

Lennon has since risen to fame with her own solo music, but the sisters are still just as close as ever. Maisy has even appeared in handful of Lennon's music videos, including "La Di Da," and jumps on stage with her from time to time. When they're not cheering each other on in their personal endeavors, they're sharing adorable moments together on social media. See some of their best pictures ahead.

Liam Payne stopped by Vevo’s New York City studio to perform stripped-down versions of his new single “Stack It Up” and his Jonas Blue collaboration “Polaroid.”

Sza, The Weeknd and Travis Scott Drop Video for ‘Game of Thrones’-Inspired Song ‘Power Is Power’
Following the release of “For the Throne (Music Inspired by the HBO Series Game of Thrones),” on Sunday morning Columbia Records and HBO released the official music video for the album’s lead single “Power Is Power” by Sza, The Weeknd and Travis Scott. The visual was directed by Anthony Mandler and shot in Los Angeles and is perhaps most remarkable for the hilarious sight of the artists, dressed in outfits inspired by the show, stalking or writhing around sets inspired by the show (Scott’s setting is actually low-key compared with his concert staging), with dragons and the Night King looming in the background.

“We’re taking established artists and pulling them into the ‘Game of Thrones’ world,” says Mandler. “The show establishes all these different kingdoms and worlds. What I want to do is integrate the color palettes of winter, the warmer tones and match that with today’s biggest stars.

The Game of Thrones Season 8 Soundtrack Will Include Sza, Maren Morris, The Weeknd, and More
Ramin Djawadi
The Game of Thrones score, composed by musical genius Ramin Djawadi, has iconic songs like the show's pounding main theme and the haunting season six finale score, "Light of the Seven." Now the HBO series is getting a whole new set of songs to celebrate the imminent arrival of season eight from artists like Sza, Ellie Goulding, Maren Morris, The Weeknd, and more.

Columbia Records and HBO announced in early April that an album, For The Throne, is on the way. It will include a ton of brand new tracks inspired by the fantasy series, marking the first time HBO has partnered with a major label to curate a soundtrack. We can only pray that a sampling of Daenerys screaming "Dracarys" makes it on to at least one of the songs.

Watch The Chainsmokers, 5 Seconds of Summer Play ‘Who Do You Love’ on Fallon
The Chainsmokers and 5 Seconds of Summer joined forces on The Tonight Show to perform their collaborative new single “Who Do You Love.” The hooky, hypnotic number, which dropped last month, took on an even more buoyant vibe when performed live. Nashville's Lennon Stella on Growing Up and Her "Graceful Evolution" Into a Solo Career
Image Source: Getty / Joe Maher

If you've watched Nashville, then you probably already know Lennon Stella's name. The 19-year-old singer and her real-life sister, Maisy, played Maddie and Daphne Conrad on the hit show and eventually rose to stardom with their addicting music covers. Now that the series has officially ended, Stella is forging her own way as a solo artist with a fresh new sound. In addition to releasing a few catchy singles, she recently teamed up with One Direction's Liam Payne and Jonas Blue for the song "Polaroid." And that's just the beginning.

Not only does she have a few concerts lined up, but she also has a brand-new Ep called Love, Me out on Nov. 16. I recently had a chance to sit down with the rising star at the Hyatt Centric Times Square for its first Sofar Sounds concert event, where she discussed all the exciting...

Callie Khouri at an event for 64th Annual Academy Awards (1992)
Spoiler Alert: The story includes details about the series finale of Nashville.

Nashville tonight wrapped its six-season run — four on ABC and two on Cmt — with an eventful finale that featured the return (in a flashback) of the beloved Rayna James (Connie Britton), a happy ending for virtually every character but baddie Brad and a love letter to the city of Nashville.

It was payback time for the final season’s villain, the arrogant label owner Brad (Jeffrey Nordling). With help of Deacon (Charles Esten), Alannah (Rainee Lyleson), the object of Brad’s unwelcome sexual advances in the final season’s #metoo storyline, pulled off a sting operation, getting Brad’s harassment on tape. She, Deacon and Zach (Cameron Scoggins) then used the recording to blackmail Brad into selling his Shiny New Records to Deacon and Zach for a fraction of its value. And Jessie (Kaitlin Doubleday) got full custody of their son Jake.

Connie Britton at an event for Friday Night Lights (2006)
With “Nashville” taking its final bow this week, here’s a look back at some of the best moments from each season.

Season 1: Deacon Kisses Rayna in the Elevator

It was clear from the beginning that Rayna (Connie Britton) and Deacon (Charles Esten) were meant for each other, though it was a long road to get there. It was a gratifying moment for fans when Deacon finally kissed Rayna in the elevator.

Season 2: Juliette Sings “Don’t Put Dirt on My Grave”

Look, we never said Juliette Barnes (Hayden Panetierre) was perfect, but she gives a pretty perfect “f— you.” In the scene where she’s asked to publicly apologize for past behavior, she goes out with a bang and sings that she’s not done yet.

In the clip, Zach (Cameron Scroggins) presents an ultimatum to Brad (Jeffrey Nordling), Nashville’s Next is about to name its star and Avery (Jonathan Jackson) and Juliette (Hayden Panettiere) are ready to face their future. There’s also a mysterious blurry figure toward the end of the clip with Deacon (Charles Esten) asking “Is this real?” (Who could that be?)

In Cmt’s official logline for the final episode, “Deacon can’t forgive Gideon and gets an opportunity to fulfill a lifelong dream. Juliette makes a decision about her future. Daphne prepares for the final round of Nashville’s Next. Alannah confronts Brad. Avery, Gunnar, and Will discuss the future.”

The country music soap has been on quite a journey since it premiered on ABC in 2012. It was canceled suddenly in May 2016 and...

‘Nashville’ Final Season: Juliette Found a Man Who Is Gonna Solve All Her Problems (Exclusive Video)
Contrary to contrarian belief, country music is not all about a man’s dog, his pickup truck and a six-pack of beer.
