Namitha Pramod

Namitha Pramod, born to Pramod and Indu in Kottayam, Kerala, is a versatile actress primarily known for her work in the Malayalam film industry. Raised alongside her sibling Akhita Pramod, Namitha embarked on her acting journey at a young age, initially as a child artist in Malayalam TV serials.

Her cinematic debut occurred in 2011 with the film 'Traffic,' directed by Rajesh Pillai, which featured a star-studded cast including Sreenivasan, Kunchako Boban, Rahman, and Lena. This movie marked a turning point in the Malayalam film industry, earning praise from both critics and audiences.

However, it was her lead role in 'Puthiya Theerangal,' directed by Sathyan Anthikkada, that truly showcased her acting prowess. Despite receiving mixed reviews, Namitha's performance garnered attention, setting the stage for a promising career. In recognition of her achievements, she received the New Face of the Year award at the Amrita Film Awards Night in 2013.

Subsequently, Namitha starred in notable films like 'Sound Thoma' and 'Pullipulikalum Aattinkuttiyum.' In 2014, she played a pivotal role in Lal Jose's 'Vikramadithyan,' alongside Dulquer Salman and Unni Mukudan, earning accolades and the Best Star Pair Award at the Vanitha Film Awards.

Expanding her horizons, Namitha ventured into the Tamil and Telugu film industries. Her Tamil debut was in 2014 with 'En Kaadhal Pudhithu,' and in 2016, she entered Telugu cinema with 'Chuttalabbai,' directed by Veerabhdram Chowdary.

The actress continued to make a mark in Malayalam cinema with films like 'Villali Veeran,' 'Ormayundo Ee Mukham,' and 'Chandrettan Evideya.' Notably, her performances in films like 'Amar Akbar Anthony' and 'Adi Kapyare Kootamani' in 2015 earned her the Vanitha Film Award for Most Popular Actress.

In 2018, Namitha took on a significant role in the multi-starrer film 'Kammara Sambhavam,' sharing the screen with Dileep, Siddharth, and Bobby Simhaa. The film, directed by Rathish Ambat, received acclaim for its unique storyline.

Stepping outside her comfort zone, Namitha recently appeared in the thriller film 'Eesho,' directed by Nadirsha, where she shared the screen with Jayasurya and Jaffar Idukki.
