Biography

    • Larry is a musician, actor, singer, lyricist, and songwriter, as well as lifelong fan of classic Horror movies. Since 1982 he has been the front-man and main songwriter of the Classic Horror-themed Heavy Metal band Manimals, who are based in Cleveland, Ohio. Larry is the lead singer and bassist, and is known as Larry The Wolf. They released their debut EP, "Blood is the Harvest" on 12-inch vinyl, in 1985. After a late-80's breakup they reformed in 1998 and released their first full-length album "Horrorcore" in 1999. Larry coined the term "Horrorcore" in the early 80's, to describe their Punk-Rock influenced, Heavy Metal sound, combined with macabre lyrical themes and imagery sometimes influenced by classic horror films such as "Island of Lost Souls", "White Zombie", "The Wolf Man", and many more. The name "Horrorcore" was first used by Larry in the lyrics to "The Killing Season", which was a live staple of the band as early as 1984. In their early days they played alongside numerous internationally regarded bands such as Mercyful Fate and Megadeth. In the early 2000's Larry and The Manimals were signed to Cleveland, Ohio based label Auburn Records.

World renowned editor, writer and science fiction/horror collector Forrest J Ackerman recorded the spoken introduction to the "Horrorcore" album, known as "The Ackermonster Speaks..."
