The arrival of Paige alongside Aj Lee somewhat paved the path for a madness gimmick, a role that has been portrayed by very few individuals across the history of WWE. WWE’s Paige is showing her support for Florence Pugh, the actress who plays her in the recently-released biopic Fighting with My Family.

On Friday, a film critic from the Evening Standard published a review of the film — which is inspired by Paige’s life — and they made note of Pugh’s appearance on screen, comparing her to the WWE star.

“Her character is based on real-world WWE champion Paige, whose legs are significantly slimmer,” the author wrote, adding that Pugh had “chunky thighs.”

Fighting with My Family is the big screen story of the larger than real-life story of WWE superstar Paige (real name Saraya-Jade Bevis). It stars Lady Macbeth’s Florence Pugh, Dunkirk standout Jack Lowden and Brit com regular Nick Frost. A change of pace from the usual action-driven output from WWE studios, “Fighting With My Family” at times more closely brings to mind 2000’s guilty-pleasure comedy “Ready to Rumble,” one of the few filmmaking ventures by the wrestling conglomerate’s then-rival WCW. Dwayne Johnson unveiled the official poster for Fighting with My Family on social media this morning. Additionally, the studio has released some new stills from the upcoming movie about WWE superstar Paige's life. The latest promotional material comes after the first trailer was released last month, showcasing the comedic aspect of the story. Johnson serves as a producer on the project, which was in development for quite a bit before production officially started.

The Fighting With My Family poster features Paige, played by Florence Pugh, front and center with Dwayne Johnson by her side. As for the first photo, it features young Paige holding her replica Divas Championship Belt in her room, as she dreams about breaking into the pro wrestling world. The second photos shows Paige in the ring with her brother Zak (played by Jack Lowden) as they try out for the WWE. Johnson had this to say about the movie.

MGM has moved back the Dwayne Johnson wrestling drama “Fighting With My Family” from Sept. 14 to March 1, 2019.

“Fighting With My Family” is based on the story of WWE star Paige, with Florence Pugh starring and Jack Lowden playing her brother. The film also stars Lena Headey and Nick Frost. Johnson portrays himself in the film, while Vince Vaughn is portraying Jake “The Snake” Roberts.

Stephen Merchant is directing from his own script, inspired by the Channel 4 documentary “The Wrestlers: Fighting With My Family.”

Production companies are Seven Bucks Productions, which Johnson co-founded with Dany Garcia; Misher Films; WWE Studios; and Film4. Kevin Misher of Misher Films will produce alongside WWE Studios president Michael Luisi. Merchant will executive produce with Johnson. In-ring scenes were filmed at WWE Raw at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

She replaces former Gm Daniel Bryan, who returned to in-ring action at WrestleMania Sunday night after being medically cleared to return following a two-year absence.

Paige, who’s real name is Saraya-Jade Bevis, was the first Nxt Women’s Champion. She is best known for making her WWE TV debut at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans the night after WrestleMania 30. It was there that she defeated Aj Lee to become WWE Divas Champion and the company’s youngest double champion at age 20.

In that same stadium, Paige announced on “Monday Night Raw” this week that despite her attempts over the past two years to return to the ring, she had no choice to retire due to a series of neck injuries. The most recent was sustained during a match in December, when Paige suffered an impact injury from a kick, forcing the referee to stop the match.

Now Paige will be able to continue appearing for WWE in a non-wrestling role, as Tuesday’s “SmackDown” kicked off with an announcement from Shane McMahon that she would be the show’s new authority figure. Other wrestlers, like Bryan and WWE commentator Corey Graves, have taken similar paths as the company has retained wrestlers to take positions outside the ring after career-ending injuries.

Born in Norwich, England, Paige began her wrestling career in 2005 at the age of 13, serving as the tag team partner for her mother, Saraya Knight. After a career on the European indie circuit in which she competed against her mother for championships, she signed a contract with WWE in 2011. Her career will be the focus of a film being produced by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson called “Fighting With My Family,” which comes out in September.

Following the leak of nude photos online Thursday, WWE Superstar Charlotte Flair commented on the matter.

According to Daniel Cutts and Lee Astley of the Sun, Charlotte is the latest WWE Superstar to be the victim of a potential hack after explicit photos and videos of Paige leaked in March.

The 31-year-old Flair is the daughter of WWE Hall of Famer "Nature Boy" Ric Flair.

She signed with WWE in 2012 and quickly rose through the ranks to become one of the company's premier female performers.

After WWE’s “Monday Night Raw” went off the air, the crowd at the Staples Center in Los Angeles got a surprise visit from The Rock, who decided to give fans a chance to say “hi” to former wrestler, Ufc fighter Cm Punk. The man known outside the ring as Dwayne Johnson was there to film in-ring scenes for the wrestling movie “Fighting With My Family,” which tells the story of WWE wrestler Paige and how she grew up in a family of pro wrestlers. The film crew was there to film the final scene of the movie, which depicts Paige’s.

Vince Vaughn has hopped on board Dwayne Johnson's film based on a true-life superstar in the WWE world. Fighting With My Family is a wrestling film about the family of WWE superstar Paige, who began traveling and wrestling with her family in England at age 13. Deadline reports Vaughn will co-star alongside Johnson, Lena Headey, and Nick Frost in the dramedy. The film itself takes further inspiration from a Channel 4 documentary of the same name. 

I'm pretty excited about this film! As a wrestling fan, I always thought it was crazy that Paige (whose real name is Saraya-Jade Bevis) was placed within the world of wrestling at such a young age. It's safe to say her upbringing, and that of other children of wrestlers like The Rock, was significantly different than ours! The film has no release date yet, but we'll keep you in the loop!

Stephen Merchant will direct the Rock in a adaption of real life British wrestler Saraya-Jade Bevis aka Paige. 'Fighting with my Family' will also star Florence Pugh as the young wrestler.

Paige (real name Saraya-Jade Bevis), now 24, was born into a family of wrestlers in Norwich; her mother kept up the bouts unwittingly well into her pregnancy. In 2005, at the age of 13, Bevis made her debut in the World Association of Wrestling, a promotion run by her family.  She is a two-time Divas Champion and was the inaugural Nxt Women's Champion in WWE's developmental branch, Nxt. She is the only person to have held both championships concurrently.

The film is a co-production between WWE Studios and Film4 and will begin shooting later this month.

Deadline reports that Dwayne Johnson and The Office’s Stephen Merchant are teaming up for a new dramedy about a British wrestling dynasty. Sadly, Fighting With My Family—based on the life story of WWE star Paige—won’t put the two men on screen together, as some sort of living document of the incredible variability of the human form. Instead, Merchant will write and direct the film, while The Rock will co-star and produce.

The movie takes as its inspiration Channel Four’s The Wrestlers: Fighting With My Family, a documentary that tracked the lives of Paige, her parents, and her brother, all of whom work as professional wrestlers to greater or lesser degrees of success. Florence Pugh will play Paige (whose real name is Saraya-Jade Bevis), while Dunkirk’s Jack Lowden will play her brother Zak, who wrestles under the name Zak Zodiac.

Dwayne Johnson and Stephen Merchant’s pro-wrestling-themed, biographically-based film, Fighting with My Family, is back on track for its release after experiencing a series of delays. The wrestling family in focus here is the Bevis clan, played here by Lena Headey, Nick Frost, Jack Lowden and, notably, a rising star in Florence Pugh, who portrays the family's most famous member in former WWE wrestler Paige.

The biopic, written and directed by Stephen Merchant, will arrive from production entities in Dwayne Johnson’s Seven Bucks and WWE Studios, with MGM distributing. Along with the cast presence of Vince Vaughn, the film will also see Johnson bank a cameo as himself. Writer/director Merchant also fields a role.
