"I'm Not Comparing It to Shakespeare": 'Yellowjackets' Christina Ricci Reveals Why She Doesn't Feel "Ownership" Over Wednesday Addams
Image
Netflix will deliver the second season of its iteration of the character, Wednesday Addams, when Wednesday returns later this year for its sophomore season. However, before the character was embodied by Jenna Ortega, the titular detective was portrayed by Christina Ricci, who many saw as the classic Wednesday. Ricci played the morbid and emotionally reserved child in 1991's The Addams Family and the 1993 sequel, Addams Family Values. So, when the character was announced to be returning in Netflix's show, some audience members had somewhat expected Ricci to return to the role.

The streamer, however, opted for Ortega, but Ricci did return, playing the supporting character, Marilyn Thornihill, a botany teacher at Wednesday's boarding school, Nevermore Academy. While Ricci not reprising her role as the iconic character might have saddened fans, Ricci reveals she doesn't think she owns the character. Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, the Yellowjackets star revealed:

"The last time I played this part,...

Why Juliette Lewis Left Yellowjackets
Image
This article contains spoilers for "Yellowjackets."

If there's one clear hero in "Yellowjackets," it's Natalie "Nat" Scatorccio, as played by Sophie Thatcher as a teenager in the past timeline and Juliette Lewis as an adult in the present timeline. Teen Natalie is the only character on the show who consistently tries to do the right thing, even if this sometimes backfires and makes everything worse. Whereas Tai (Jasmin Savoy Brown and Tawny Cypress), Van (Liv Hewson and Lauren Ambrose), Misty (Samantha Hanratty and Christina Ricci), Lottie (Courtney Eaton and Simone Kessell), and (especially) Shauna (Sophie Nélisse and Melanie Lynskey) have all disappointed us at one time or another, Natalie has stayed brave, kind, and reasonably level-headed.

By the end of season 3, it seems like the group has split into two main factions in the past timeline: one that's far more unbalanced, and Team Resistance, which is made up of everyone else.

Tawny Cypress and Christina Ricci Plot What’s Next on ‘Yellowjackets’
Image
[This story contains major spoilers from the season three finale of Yellowjackets, “Full Circle.”]

Yellowjackets has found a new deadly duo.

After the killing spree of season three, the Showtime series ended with a revelatory finale, titled “Full Circle,” that answered both the biggest question of the series (who is Pit Girl?) and the biggest question of the season (who killed Lottie?). Both answers also indicated that Shauna (played by Melanie Lynskey in the present and Sophie Nélisse in the past) perhaps deserves what her surviving friends are now plotting against her in present day.

The wilderness timeline revealed that the girl who savagely died in the pilot of the series is Mari (Alexa Barajas), in a hunt that was sparked by “Antler Queen” Shauna (Nélisse). And the present-day timeline in the survival saga unmasked Shauna’s teenage daughter, Callie (Sarah Desjardins), as the murderer of Yellowjackets survivor Lottie (Simone Kessell). In between those revelations, fellow survivor Van (Lauren Ambrose) died...

Melanie Lynskey, Christina Ricci, Elijah Wood, Hilary Swank, Joel McHale: Here is every ‘Yellowjackets’ Emmy acting submission for Season 3
Image
Yellowjackets is going big for the 2025 Emmys.

Gold Derby has confirmed that the Showtime drama is submitting 19 different actors for the third season.

Melanie Lynskey, who earned Emmy nominations for playing Shauna Sadecki in the Showtime drama's first two seasons, will be submitted again in Best Drama Actress. She will be joined in the lead category by Sophie Nélisse, who plays cannibalistic teen Shauna in the wilderness, and Tawny Cypress, who takes on split personalities as adult Taissa Turner.

The rest of the Yellowjackets squad will battle it out in the crowded Best Supporting Actress field: Jasmin Savoy Brown as teen Taissa, Sophie Thatcher as teen Natalie Scatorccio, Samantha Hanratty as teen Misty Quigley, Courtney Eaton as teen Lottie Matthews, Lauren Ambrose as Van Palmer, and Christina Ricci, who was Emmy nominated for Season 1, as adult Misty.

Also submitted in Best Supporting Actress this year will be two non-Yellowjackets: Sarah Desjardins as Shauna's daughter,...

'Yellowjackets' Creators Tease Hilary Swank Has the "Level of Sharp Teeth That This Character Requires"
Image
Editor's Note: This article contains spoilers for Yellowjackets Season 3, Episode 8, "A Normal, Boring Life."

When the first Yellowjacketstrailer dropped a few months ago, we were all gobsmacked by the reveal of Oscar-winning actress Hilary Swank running for her life in the present timeline. Now, after seven episodes of speculation, it's finally confirmed that Swank is playing the adult version of Melissa. Jenna Burgess originated the character in the '90s timeline, and thanks to her relationship with Shauna (Sophie Nélisse), she's become a major player in Season 3 after spending much of the first two seasons on the bench.

During a recent interview with Collider's Perri Nemiroff for Episode 8 at SXSW, "A Normal, Boring Life," co-showrunners Jonathan Lisco and Ashley Lyle and producer Drew Comins spoke about the casting process for Swank. When asked how they went about getting the heavily decorated actress, Lisco jumped in first, saying, "We went to her.

Jenna Ortega Reveals She Studied Original Addams Family Cartoons for Wednesday
Image
For Jenna Ortega, getting in touch with Wednesday's lead meant staying true to her character's artistic roots.

Speaking with Den of Geek ahead of the new film Death of a Unicorn's release, Ortega talked about playing the fan-favorite The Addams Family daughter and the role Charles Addams' The New Yorker cartoons played in helping her get Wednesday Addams right. "In between season 1 and season 2, I actually went to this antiquarian bookshop and I picked up some of the first published books of Charles Addams. I kept that on my bedside table as we were shooting just for reference. You know, looking at [his] dark tools," she said. On top of that, Ortega researched another of Addams' books "that was just stuff that inspired him throughout the years. Like weird families and weird things like that."

While Addams' characters weren't named in the original cartoons, their macabre humor and subversive tone...

Before 'Yellowjackets,' Samantha Hanratty Was a Scene-Stealer on Another Hit Showtime Dramedy
Image
Samantha Hanratty is one of the best parts of Yellowjackets, with her unhinged portrayal of Misty Quigley. Christina Ricci is unreal as the adult version of Misty, and it’s remarkable that Hanratty was able to come in as a relative unknown and match Ricci so well. The way Misty’s wide-eyed face lights up with unbridled enthusiasm can be either funny, foreboding, or heartbreaking depending on the situation. This season Misty has already had a standout episode when she defended Coach Ben (Steven Krueger) in his trial.

Christina Ricci Missed Out on Starring in 'Léon: The Professional' for a Ridiculous Reason
Image
Christina Ricci has been an accomplished actress and has starred in several popular films and series since her big screen debut in Mermaids (1990). But one role she missed out on was that of Mathilda in the classic 1994 film, Léon: The Professional, losing out to Natalie Portman. And in a new interview with the YouTube show, First We Feast (via The Wrap), Ricci reveals the ridiculous reason why: she was "too common and healthy looking."

That may come as a surprise to some, considering one of Ricci's most famous roles was the rather gothic Wednesday Addams in the early 1990s hit film, The Addams Family and its sequel. She explained to her Yellowjackets co-star Melanie Lynskey why she lost out on her "dream role:"

"I really wanted to be in 'Léon: The Professional,' but I was too common and healthy-looking. What a time to be twelve."

"I Was Too Common & Healthy Looking": Christina Ricci Reveals The Awful Reason Why Her 12-Year-Old Self Lost A Major Role To Natalie Portman
Image
Christina Ricci talks about how she lost a major role to Natalie Portman. The Yellowjackets star started her career as a child star, featuring in the 1990 movie, Mermaids, and scored her big break portraying Wednesday Addams in the 1991 movie The Addams Family. She transitioned into more adult-themed roles in 200 Cigarettes, The Ice Storm, Buffalo '66, and many more. In the Tim Burton-directed Netflix series Wednesday, she appeared as Marilyn Thornhill, a teacher at Nevermore Academy.

Most recently, Ricci played a sadistic healthcare worker in the hit show Yellowjackets. The show follows a group of girls who are stranded in the wilderness after a plane crash, taking place in dual timelines. Ricci's character, Misty, is one of the survivors in the present timeline who is still haunted by what happened to them in the woods. While promoting the show's season 3, Ricci reflects on her childhood career, where she admits...

'Dolores Claiborne' Audition Ended with Kathy Bates Consoling Christina Ricci
Image
Christina Ricci is a Hollywood star who has grown up in the spotlight, but she is also someone who has avoided many of the issues faced by stars who hit the high life too young. After her breakout role in 1991's The Addams Family, many would have thought that the Goth-like teen would swerve towards a more "problematic" lifestyle. However, it all turned out great for the actress, and listening to the advice of her peers certainly played a big part of that. In Ricci's case, this advice arrived when she was just a teenager auditioning for a Stephen King movie.

Ricci was recently the recipient of a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, 35 years after she debuted alongside Cher and Winona Ryder in the comedy-drama Mermaids. Today, Ricci is still very active in both films and television. She had a major role in Netflix's Wednesday, the...

Christina Ricci Receives Hollywood Walk of Fame Star, Calls for Industry Led by Artists
Christina Ricci
Christina Ricci was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on March 6, joining more than 2,800 figures from film, television, music, and sports. The ceremony took place at the intersection of Hollywood and Argyle, an area she holds close to her heart. “It’s a really good corner,” Ricci said, noting its proximity to the Frolic Room, featured in A Woman Under the Influence, and recalling her own time spent there in her twenties.

Ricci, who rose to fame in the 1990s with films like The Addams Family and Mermaids, reflected on her career and the evolution of the entertainment industry. Asked about the future of filmmaking, she expressed a desire for creative leadership over corporate decision-making. “I hope that we are able to get back to things being run by people who love film and TV instead of by people who run corporations really well,” she said.

Christina Ricci Wants Hollywood Run by ‘People Who Love Film and TV’ — Not Corporations

A veteran actress and ambitious future ghost, Christina Ricci already has plans to haunt her star on the Walk of Fame. “It’s a really good corner,” Ricci told IndieWire, standing at the intersection between Hollywood and Argyle.

More than 2,800 celebrities from throughout TV, film, sports, and music have their names emblazoned on the city’s most iconic sidewalk. Christina Ricci reflects on her career after getting a Hollywood Walk of Fame star: ‘I want to help expand people’s ideas of individuality’
Image
The Hollywood Walk of Fame gained a new star on Thursday morning when Emmy and Golden Globe nominee Christina Ricci was honored for her decades-long career in film and television. Hollywood Boulevard was flooded with fans of Ricci toting merchandise from her most famous projects, including The Addams Family, Casper, and her current series, Showtime's survival thriller Yellowjackets.

"They do the list of nominees who could get it and the second I saw [my name] I cried," Ricci told Gold Derby following the ceremony. "I don't really understand quite well why it's so meaningful to me, but I think it's such validation and acceptance and an acknowledgment, and it feels really special."

Ricci's former collaborators took to the makeshift stage to give impassioned speeches about the impact she's had on them and their careers. Dan Bucatinsky, in particular, got choked up as he recounted taking a 17-year-old Ricci in with his husband...

Christina Ricci ‘Hated’ Camera Tests for Years: ‘Everyone Would Look at Me and Talk About What Was Wrong with Me’
Image
Christina Ricci is recalling what she “dreaded” most on set as a child actress.

The “Yellowjackets” star made her film debut in 1990 at age nine in “Mermaids.” She went on to lead iconic films such as “Sleepy Hollow,” “The Addams Family,” “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas,” and “Casper” as a teen before continuing her career into adulthood with “Monster,” “Black Snake Moan,” and more.

Ricci, who is now receiving her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, told Variety that growing up in the spotlight came with its downsides, namely being told “what was wrong” with her during camera tests.

“I hated fittings and I hated camera-test days because I knew those were the days when everyone would look at me and talk about what was wrong with me, with my appearance and what they needed to fix,” Ricci said. “‘We can’t ever shoot her from this side.

Speaking with Variety about her Walk of Fame induction, which she called a "profoundly meaningful" moment in her decades-long career, Ricci opened up about her love for acting and what it did for her professionally and personally. Ricci admitted that becoming a film star gave her renewed purpose after a "not very nice" childhood with a family she didn't feel safe around. Why Christina Ricci Doesn't Want to Play a Mother On-Screen
Image
When Netflix announced that Christina Ricci would be appearing in the first season of Tim Burton’s Wednesday series, some fans hoped that she would be taking on the role of Morticia, the mother of the titular character she played in two movies in the 1990s. However, in a new interview with Variety, Ricci indirectly addressed one reason why that was probably never an option for her.

When asked about which roles she would like to play that she hasn’t already, the Yellowjackets star segued into talking about a role that she doesn’t want to take on in a movie or series: a mother. She told the publication:

“I’ve always said that I wanna play a mute [laughs]. If you don’t have to talk on camera, that’s my favorite thing. … I don’t really ever wanna play a mother on camera. I guess maybe the way...

‘Yellowjackets’ Cast & Creators Talk “Scary & Unhinged” Season 3’s Bigger Picture, Lottie’s Influence & Juliette Lewis’ Absence
Image
Spoilers: This post contains details about episodes 1 & 2 of Yellowjackets, Season 3.

Although plenty of emotions abound in Season 3 of Showtime’s hit series Yellowjackets, love was certainly in the air at the Valentine’s Eve premiere in Hollywood.

Ahead of Friday’s Paramount+ with Showtime streaming debut, the cast and creators spoke to Deadline at the Season 3 junket and premiere about missing one fallen teammate, as well as the “very scary and unhinged” third chapter, which ultimately sees the past and present beginning to merge.

“One of the fundamental conceits of the show is that past is present, that these are two storylines that are written in kind of present tense, they’re both very alive,” said co-creator Bart Nickerson of the show, which also airs Sundays at 8pm Et on Showtime. “And the way they inform each other narratively, the more and more they come together, to a certain extent,...

'Hunting Daze' Review | A Sharp & Unpredictable Thriller
Image
A fiery young woman stranded in the Canadian wilderness is rescued by a group of machismo-fueled men staying in a remote cabin in Hunting Daze. The film takes this unnerving premise to feral heights with a surprising narrative that twists and turns to a truly unexpected conclusion. Eyeballs will be glued to the screen as the film skates a razor's edge of tension while escalating pointed themes of group dynamics, socio-sexual hierarchy, and moral relativism. The well does overflow with weirdness as rampant drug use and boozing trigger bizarre dream sequences to a head-scratching fault.

Nina (Nahéma Ricci) leans indignantly on a rock face while arguing with her equally stuck companions. Their car has run out of gas in the middle of nowhere. She calls Kevin (Frédéric Millaire-Zouvi), a random guy she met several days earlier, for help. He drives up to the group with a jug of gas, but...

Is Christina Ricci Still The Definitive Wednesday Addams — Or Has Jenna Ortega Eclipsed Her?
Image
Wednesday Addams is one of the most iconic characters of all time. Her signature gothic fashion, macabre sense of humor, and disregard for societal norms have been delighting audiences since 1938 when she first appeared in Charles Addams's New Yorker comic strips. Since then, the character has been portrayed in multiple television shows, animations, and feature films.

Christina Ricci brought Wednesday to life in two beloved 1990s films, The Addams Family and Addams Family Values. The films were incredibly successful and remain fan favorites to this day. Her flawless performance instantly established her as the definitive version of the character for decades. However, in 2022, Netflix premiered its series Wednesday, with Jenna Ortega delivering a brilliant performance that reinvented the character for a new generation. Ortega's portrayal has sparked debate among fans about whether Ricci's Wednesday remains the definitive version or if Ortega's rendition has claimed the title.

'Addams Family Values', One of the Best Sequels of All Time, Is Streaming on Max Next Month
Image
The charming, mysterious, and all together ooky Addams Family has captivated audiences for decades - dating back to Charles Addams' popular single-panel cartoons that appeared in The New Yorker magazine beginning in 1938. Through the decades, several filmmakers have taken the unconventional family to the screen and next month, Barry Sonenfeld's Addams Family Values (arguably one of the greatest sequels ever made), will make its way to Max.

While sequels don't generally have the reputation of critically surpassing their predecessors, Addams Family Values is a different story. When it came to critical reception, the 1993 sequel fared better than Sonnenfeld's The Addams Family (1991). Addams Family Values boasts a 75% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, an 8% increase from the 1991 original. These higher marks were largely due to iconic performances by Christina Ricci (as Wednesday Addams) and Joan Cusack as Uncle Fester's manipulative girlfriend, Debbie. Addams Family Values begins streaming on Max on January 1st.

Christina Ricci Reflects on Her History With Dark and Spooky Roles
Image
Christina Ricci's decades-long career dates back to her childhood, when she became known for playing smart, spooky characters. While Ricci made her film debut in Mermaids in 1990, her breakout role is widely recognized as Wednesday Addams in The Addams Family; she would reprise the morbid character for 1993's Addams Family Values. In 1995, she starred in Casper as Kat Harvey, a teenager who develops a bond with a ghost. Four years later, Ricci worked alongside Tim Burton, a master of spooky, for his gothic horror Sleepy Hollow. During a recent conversation with People, Ricci was asked what it was like to be a pioneer in the spooky genre:

"That's very kind of you. I don't feel like a pioneer... certainly. I was lucky as a young person at that time [with] where our culture was to play really interesting roles, interesting young girls and then interesting women."

‘Lucha: A Wrestling Tale’ Review: An Endearing Doc Portrait of Bronx High School Girls’ Wrestling Team
Image
Making a documentary set in a high school seems like an absolute nightmare. It’s a tightly contained setting with layers of bureaucracy, and all your potential subjects require heaps of parental clearances for themselves and anybody they happen to talk to. Plus, teenagers tend to be just a wee bit changeable, defying a traditional narrative arc.

It’s important that we realize how miraculous projects like Hoop Dreams and America to Me are.

Lucha: A Wrestling Tale, director Marco Ricci’s two-year chronicle of the women’s wrestling team at Taft High School in the Bronx, is, on many levels, a mess. It wants to be a story of individual students, a team, a school and even a borough, but owing primarily to issues of access and choices of focus, it struggles to achieve many of its biggest storytelling aspirations.

But for all the places Lucha fails to craft a convincing portrait,...

The longtime couple have been together for 16 years. Nine years later, Amell and Ricci officially tied the knot in 2016, and they expanded their family in 2019.

While neither Amell nor Ricci talk about their relationship much in interviews, they do give fans a peek into their personal lives by sharing photos of their biggest milestones as a couple on Instagram. The social media platform is also where Amell and Ricci update fans on their latest acting projects. You may know Amell from TV series like "The Tomorrow People," "The Flash," and "Upload." Wednesday’s Opening Torture Scene Is A Callback To 2 Forgotten Original Addams Family Members
Image
Wednesday season 1 is filled with references and Easter eggs to past adaptations of The Addams Family, including the 1960s sitcom. The use of piranhas by Wednesday to torment her classmates is a clever nod to the two pet piranhas named Isolde and Tristan from the 1960s Addams Family TV show. Wednesday's pet scorpion, Nero, in the series continues the tradition of the Addams Family owning unconventional and bizarre pets, such as lions, spiders, vultures, and lizards.

The torturous act that gets Wednesday Addams expelled in Wednesday season 1’s opening scene features a subtle callback to two characters from the original Addams Family TV show. Netflix’s Wednesday is filled with references and Easter eggs to past adaptations of The Addams Family and the original cartoons from creator Charles Addams. While many of the outfits, location names, quotes, and sound cues like the infamous double snap are more overt, the series...

Image
The best fall movies make for comforting watches by incorporating the most memorable elements of the season, whether that's autumn leaves, hot drinks, cozy sweaters, or holidays like Halloween and Thanksgiving. Watching the best horror movies can be fun, but they're all about putting audiences on edge while the best fall movies are about comfort and relaxation. How ‘Yellowjackets’ Used Radiohead and an Ensemble Cast to Keep Things ‘Simple’ in the Edit Booth
Image
This story about the editors of “Yellowjackets” first ran in the Drama Series issue of TheWrap’s awards magazine.

The opening theme to “Yellowjackets” goes, “keep simple, nothing tired,” and this mantra could not apply more to the people who might actually be the true heroes behind the Showtime hit: the tireless editing team. The drama’s second season about a group of women grappling with the aftermath of a crash landing in the wilderness in their youth has pushed the envelope even further (cults! cannibalism!) and introduced more characters (including Elijah Wood’s wealthy amateur sleuth). But for two of the prominent editors on the show, Kevin D. Ross and Jeff Israel, it was just another day at the office, conveniently located in their own residences.

“We all work from home, so we have to keep contact in with each other constantly,” Israel said. “They’re writing the episodes...

‘Yellowjackets’ submits 18 actors for 2023 Emmys, including 2022 nominees Melanie Lynskey and Christina Ricci
Image
Last year’s breakout hit “Yellowjackets” swarmed awards season with seven Emmy nominations including Best Drama Series in 2022. The Showtime drama is looking to outperform those numbers this year by submitting 18 actors for consideration from its Season 2 cast. The Emmy ballots were officially unveiled on the Television Academy’s website on June 15, the same day nominations-round voting began (it will conclude on June 26 at 10:00 p.m.).

Most notable is Melanie Lynskey, who earned a Best Actress bid for playing Shauna Sadecki last year and currently ranks second in our odds to win the prize this time around. Cast mates joining her in the Best Drama Actress field are Tawny Cypress (Taissa Turner), Juliette Lewis (Natalie Scatorccio) and the teen version of Shauna, Sophie Nélisse.

Christina Ricci on ’emotionally stunted’ Misty in ‘Yellowjackets’ and reuniting with Tim Burton for ‘Wednesday’ [Exclusive Video Interview]
Image
“The thing I love the most about playing Misty is that she’s really somebody who has accepted the fact that she’s never going to be accepted,” says Emmy-nominated “Yellowjackets” star Christina Ricci. “She still has those compulsions that she cannot ignore. The compulsive need to try to be accepted. The compulsive need to go after someone and see if they will be her friend. But I think deep down she understands who she is and the position that she’s been given. Because of that, I don’t think she really understands societal norms.” Watch our video interview above.

Season 2 of “Yellowjackets” is currently airing on Showtime. Ricci’s role as Misty Quigley earned her a Best Supporting Actress Emmy nomination last year. It was one of seven bids for the series including Best Drama Series.

Wednesday Nearly Didn't Include Christina Ricci, Reveals Netflix Show Creators
Image
The involvement of former Wednesday Addams star Christina Ricci was a big draw for Netflix’s hit show Wednesday, but series creators Miles Millar and Alfred Gough revealed that it nearly did not happen. Based on The Addams Family characters created by cartoonist Charles Addams, Wednesday saw the latest incarnation of the titular character played by rising star Jenna Ortega. The show’s cast also included Ricci, who first rose to fame playing Gomez and Morticia’s daughter in the 1991 film The Addams Family and its 1993 sequel Addams Family Values.

In a recent interview on the Inside of You With Michael Rosenbaum podcast, the show’s creators revealed that scheduling issues almost prevented Ricci from becoming involved. Explaining that the show ultimately had to adjust its shooting schedule to accommodate Ricci’s pregnancy and her work on Yellowjackets, the series ended up filming all her episodes toward the end of their production window.

Christina Ricci returns to world of ‘The Addams Family’ in ‘Wednesday’
Image
Christina Ricci came to fame at just 10 years of age when she took on the role of Wednesday Addams in 1991’s “The Addams Family.” She gave the character a deadpan aura and the actress is still best-known for this sardonic wit. Ricci reprised the role in 1993’s “Addams Family Values,” where she solidified her take on the character, who was 12-13 years old in the movies, as the defining one. Three decades later, she returned to the world of “The Addams Family” in Netflix’s “Wednesday “— but not as Wednesday Addams.

Instead, that role went to Jenna Ortega, who is re-defining the character, now age 16, with her uber-popular performance. The comedy series sees Wednesday enrolling at Nevermore Academy. Ricci plays Marilyn Thornhill — Nevermore Academy’s science teacher and Wednesday’s dorm mother. At first, it seemed like Marilyn would be a neat little cameo-like role for Ricci that would satisfy fans of the original movies.

Can the men of ‘Yellowjackets’ break into this year’s Emmy race?
Image
“Yellowjackets” earned seven Emmy nominations for its first season and stands to perform even better this time around. Ardent supporters within the television academy who want the show to compete in as high a number of categories as possible have a trio of viable Drama Supporting Actor candidates to back. The top 10 is currently swarming with names from “Succession,” “The White Lotus: Sicily” and “House of the Dragon.” As of now, “Yellowjackets” trails all three for Best Drama Series but only by a relative handful of users. Emmy voters haven’t been shy about promoting their favorites in the past; a restricted ballot can only effect so much change. If Showtime’s hit thriller is the awards juggernaut some are saying it’ll pan out to be, the show could sneak at least one of three male cast members – Elijah Wood, Warren Kole and Steven Krueger – into the race.
