Kane Hodder and Bill Moseley are both bona fide slasher superstars, and will star together in Brian McQuery's latest horror project, Covet. Hodder portrayed Jason Voorhees across four Friday the 13th films, and Moseley played Otis B. Driftwood in The Devil's Rejects.
Per Variety, the two horror legends will appear in McQuery's sophomore effort, with his first film having been last year's Plea, starring Nightmare on Elm Street star Heather Langenkamp. The official synopsis for Covet reads, “When a sleazy car salesman is framed for the murder of his mistress, he must prove his innocence — only to learn the forces responsible may not be human.”

Horror icons Kane Hodder and Bill Moseley are teaming up to star in the indie horror film Covet, Variety has learned.
When a sleazy car salesman is framed for the murder of his mistress, he must prove his innocence — only to learn the forces responsible may not be human.
The film marks the sophomore effort from writer-director Brian McQuery, who recently helmed Plea with another genre favorite, Heather Lagenkamp.
“I’m thrilled to work with Kane in a role crafted to take advantage of both his intimidating presence and sense of humor,” McQuery said in a statement. “And I can not wait to see what Bill Moseley will do with his portrayal of Sheriff Troy.”
Covet is produced by Spyder Dobrofsky under his Worlds Apart banner.

In “Down Below,” we meet Salem, a man whose life has descended into despair due to a false charge of horrible crimes. The narrative begins on the 20th anniversary of a horrifying Christmas Eve massacre at St. Agnes Church, a trauma that haunts the town and its citizens like a specter. Mr. Monday, the evil preacher, reappears, embodying the past’s unresolved trauma—a figure born of societal negligence and individual malice.
The film’s scenario is compelling: Salem, struggling with the vestiges of his shattered identity, becomes entwined with Karisma, a call girl whose nightmares mirror the darkness of their shared history. Their link, which is fraught with tension, serves as a lifeline, but it also reflects their shared quest for redemption—an investigation of how trauma simultaneously unites and isolates.

"Some secrets are buried deep where evil dwells." Huh? What does that even mean? Gravitas has revealed an official trailer for an indie horror film titled Down Below, the latest from filmmaker Spyder Dobrofsky. This hasn't played at many festivals and will be dumped on VOD this fall in time for horror season. On the 20th anniversary of the gruesome Christmas Eve murders at St. Agnes church, a demonic preacher returns to haunt that same town's residents. Together and apart, two innocent residents are forced to face their own demons as well as a real one, who goes by the name of Mr. Monday. A gripping psychological horror movie with a shocking plot twist, this one stars Eric Roberts, Doug Jones, Bai Ling, Alexis Knapp, Hutch Dano, Christopher Livingston, and Greg Kriek. It has a wildly impressive cast for a film going direct-to-vod, but this looks very cheap and cheesy and just plain bad.

Spyder Dobrofsky is probably not a name you would expect to see credited on Christmas-themed TV movies, but that’s exactly how Dobrofsky got started out, working on the scripts for such flicks as The Housewives of the North Pole and One Christmas Wish, as well as Mom’s Day Away. When he made his feature directorial debut, it was on a movie called Spiral, which was something you’d expect to see a Spyder credited with: a mystery thriller. Now Deadline has broken the news that Dobrofsky is working on a holiday horror movie called Down Below… and he has assembled a solid cast for the project. The legendary Eric Roberts (The Dark Knight) stars alongside Bai Ling (The Crow), Alexis Knapp (Pitch Perfect), and Doug Jones, who is best known for his creature (or heavily made up) performances in films like The Shape of Water, Hellboy, and Hocus Pocus.
