Her very first feature film also included her younger daughter, Alexandra.

After appearing, as background, in her first film, Parker, she went to a well-know talent agency and was signed, immediately, at the agency audition.

Jami has appeared in a few of her films with her daughters, as well as one, with her husband.

In 2010, four years before her retirement from education, her younger daughter, Alexandra, convinced her to be a fellow background actor in the Jason Statham/Nick Nolte thriller, "Parker", which was filming a scene at The Ohio State Fair. The adrenaline rush of acting in front of the camera, as well as the entire film experience, left her wanting more.

As an inner-city mathematics teacher for thirty years, Jami used character voices and improvisation to turn mathematics-haters into enthusiastic learners and math-lovers.
