    • Brent Hartinger is a screenwriter and novelist. He's had ten original screenplays optioned, some by major producers and studios, with two indie features produced, and five more projects in active development or preproduction.

      He's also a novelist, and three of his books have been optioned for film. One of his novels, Three Truths and a Lie (Simon & Schuster, 2016), was nominated for an Edgar Award (the publishing industry's top mystery/thriller honor). He's also won the Lambda and GLAAD Awards.

      Brent has won first place in seven screenwriting contests, including Fresh Voices, StoryPros, Acclaim, the L.A. Comedy Festival, and he won Script Magazine's Screenwriting in the Sun Award. He's placed near the top in many other contests, including the PAGE Awards, Creative Worlds, Script Pipeline, WriteMovies, Scriptapalooza, and many others.

      Brent is also a former member of the faculty at Vermont College in the MFA program in Writing for Children and Young Adults, and the co-founder of the entertainment website AfterElton.com, which was later sold to MTV/Viacom in a multi-million-dollar deal.
