Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, Melanie McNulty got her start in Windy City as a young actress, working in local indie films, music videos, and commercials. One of her first professional jobs, a viral T-Mobile "Home For The Holidays" campaign, got her Taft-Hartley at only 17 years old. She went on to receive a B.A. in Theatre-Acting from Indiana University-Bloomington and a certificate from the Gaiety School of Acting-The National Theatre School of Ireland in Dublin.

Since then, she worked in Chicago for 7 years, appearing in numerous theatrical productions, indie films, commercials, and voice over. She's been nominated for Best Actress in multiple indie film festivals, and was nominated as Best Director in the Joseph Jefferson Awards, which celebrates excellence in Chicago theatre.

Now based in Los Angeles, California, McNulty works in television, film, commercial, voice over, and theatre as an actor, writer, and director. She is represented by Grossman & Jack Talent.
