Idris Elba's Hijack Adds 3 Major Stars As Season 2 Starts Filming
Image
Hijack season 2 is in production, with Idris Elba leading again alongside new stars Toby Jones, Lisa Vicari, and Christiane Paul. The storyline for season 2 remains a mystery, likely exploring many returning characters and unresolved conflicts. With an expanded cast, season 2 promises more unpredictability and a wider scope, keeping audiences on their toes.

Hijack has cast three major stars, the Idris Elba-led thriller series beginning production on season 2 in the process. Season 1 of the thriller series followed Elba's Sam Nelson, a business negotiator who becomes a key figure in negotiating with hijackers on an airplane from Dubai to London. Hijack season 1 ended with the plane safely landing, after which Sam and the lead hijacker, Stuart, have a final confrontation leading to the latter's arrest. However, there are still plenty of unanswered questions about the group that orchestrated the attack in the first place.

Now, Deadline has confirmed three major stars...

Movie Adaptation of J.K. Rowling's The Christmas Pig in Early Development
Image
J.K. Rowling's 2021 children's tale, The Christmas Pig, may be adapted into a film, following her success with Harry Potter. The story follows Jack and his toy pig, Christmas Pig, on a journey to find his beloved Dur Pig in the Land of the Lost. Despite controversy, Rowling's work continues to be popular on both stage and screen.

Yet another book by J.K. Rowling appears to be getting a film adaptation, this time by way of her 2021 children’s tale, The Christmas Pig. Rowling is, of course, the author behind the wildly successful Harry Potter franchise, which has grossed billions of dollars across eight movies and several spin-offs. She is also the author behind the Cormoran Strike crime novels (written under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith), which have been adapted into the hit TV series, Strike.

According to Variety, The Christmas Pig is in the early stages of development with...

J.K. Rowling has a Harry Potter reboot series that's currently in development, but it's not the only adaptation of her work that's on the way. The Christmas Pig, a children's book penned by Rowling, has now been set to get the feature film treatment as well.

Per Variety, a feature film adaptation is in early development for The Christmas Pig. It's currently getting developed in-house for Rowling's Bronte, and doesn't yet have a production company attached. Film Adaptation of J.K. Rowling Children’s Book ‘The Christmas Pig’ in Early Development (Exclusive)
Image
J.K. Rowling’s bestselling children’s book “The Christmas Pig” is set to get a film adaptation.

Variety understands the project is in a very early stage of development in-house and a production company has not yet been attached.

Rowling’s production company Bronte already produces the BBC/HBO adaptation of her adult detective series “Cormoran Strike.”

“The Christmas Pig” was first published in 2021 with illustrations by Jim Field. At the time of publication, Swift Films made a series of promotional videos for the project.

The book tells the story of a boy named Jack, who loses his childhood toy Dur Pig — nicknamed Dp — on Christmas Eve after his stepsister throws it out of the family car. Although Jack is offered a replacement called Christmas Pig as consolation, he misses his old faithful friend and casts Christmas Pig (abbreviated to Cp) aside.

To cheer Jack up, Cp proposes a plan to rescue his best toy.
