Michael Johnston is an actor, voice artist, and singer-songwriter from rural North Carolina. Discovering a passion for voice acting in his early teens, Johnston built a home studio and began lending his voice to animated series and video games. After graduating high school, Johnston relocated to Chicago to study acting at The Second City before making the move to Los Angeles to pursue his on-camera career.
His breakout role came as Corey Bryant in MTV's hit series Teen Wolf (2011). Other television credits include Pure Genius (2016), Supergirl (2015), The InBetween (2019), and S.W.A.T. (2017) On the film side, Michael starred in the indie feature Slash (2016) which premiered at SXSW. He also starred in the Lionsgate action thriller Espèces menacées (2021).
Michael had his stage debut as Jonny in Berkeley Repertory Theater's "Let The Right One In" in 2023, directed by two-time Tony and Oliver winning director John Tiffany & Oliver winning movement director Steven Hoggett.
Michael continues his work behind the mic. He's the protagonist of The Artful Escape (2021), which won a BAFTA Games Award. He provided his voice and motion performance for Marvel's Avengers (2020). He recently starred in The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (2023) based on the iconic horror film. Michael also frequently provides his voice for anime dubs. He voiced a recurring role in the critically acclaimed series Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba (2019), and he can be heard as the protagonist of Netflix's Akuma-kun (2023).
Michael's work in VO sparked a passion for singing. He recently lent his voice to Well-Versed (2023), an animated series from First Lady Jill Biden that teaches children about civics in short-form music videos. A vocal tenor with an emphasis on singer-songwriter pop, Michael plays acoustic guitar and released his first music video, Michael Johnston: Gravity (2024).
Above all this, Michael is a certified goofball.
