Ty Trumbo

Ty Trumbo is an American actor and writer best known for his role as a series regular on Mr. Student Body President, winner of Best Ensemble Cast at the 2017 Streamy Awards. Born and raised in the small beach town of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, Ty spent much of his youth on the basketball court before attending Emory University in Atlanta, where he was a varsity athlete in both basketball and track & field.
After graduating with a degree in screenwriting, Ty worked as a lobbyist, traveling across the U.S. advocating for social and policy reform. His work eventually brought him to Los Angeles, where his passion for storytelling and performance led him to pursue acting full-time.
In addition to Mr. Student Body President (available on Apple TV+ and Amazon Prime), Ty has appeared in a variety of acclaimed television series including Dear White People (Netflix), Bosch: Legacy (Amazon), Duster (HBO), The Passage (Fox), and The Resident (Fox), among others. In 2019, he was nominated for Best Actor by the Austin Revolution Film Festival for his leading role in the feature film The Sound of Settling.
Ty currently splits his time between Los Angeles and Atlanta, where he continues to work in both television and film. He is a proud member of SAG-AFTRA.
