Swasika Vijay is a renowned Indian actress. She was named Pooja Vijay at birth but took up Swasika as her stage name.

She began her career in films in 2009 with L.R. Sundarapandi's touching romantic movie Vaigai (2009) - she played the role of a village girl in the film. Her exceptional acting in the film instantly grabbed the viewers' attention.

Her next film was Goripalayam (2010), directed by Rasu Madhuravan - she played the second lead in this action-drama movie. She was yet to complete her education when she got a chance to act in this film.

She followed it up with Maithaanam (2011), a movie that revolves around friendship and love, directed by Shakthivel M.S.. Vijay played the role of a rural girl who follows her traditions and respects her culture. The film opened to positive reviews from critics. It was screened at the Dubai International Film Festival 2011 and Chennai International Film Festival 2011.

In 2012, Vijay made her debut in Malayalam cinema with Mamas romantic comedy Cinema Company (2012), which revolves around the story of four friends who want to make a movie. In the same year, she appeared in Ayalum Njanum Thammil... (2012), a medical drama highlighting the relationship between a careless junior doctor and a dedicated senior doctor, directed by Lal Jose. The film was appreciated by critics and went on to become a hit at the box office.

Vijay played the role of a psychiatrist in the thriller Panduvam (2014), directed by S. Siva Kumar. In this film, she portrayed a modern character, which was in contrast to her previous roles, where she mainly played village girls.

She featured in Ittymaani: Made in China (2019), a comedy directed by Jibi Joju, and had Mohanlal in the lead role. Vijay played a supporting role in the movie with a story-line that revolved around a Chinese-born Indian and his business of dealing in knockoff items. The film received a positive response from the audience.

In 2021, she played the title character in the drama film Vasanthi (2021), directed by Sajas Rahman and Shinos Rahman. The film showcased the story of an orphan woman who has to deal with various challenges in life before she emerges as a stronger and wiser individual. The film was screened at the International Film Festival of Kerala in 2021. Vijay won the Kerala State Film Award for Best Character Actress 2019 and the Kerala Film Critics Association Awards 2019 for Best Supporting Actor (Female).

Over the years, she has acted in movies belonging to various genres, such as the science fiction movie Appuchi Gramam (2014), the political thriller Parayan Baaki Vechathu (2014), the period action film Porinju Mariam Jose (2019), the mystery movie CBI 5 (2022), and the mythological fantasy film Kumari (2022).

Apart from the big screen, Vijay has built her presence in other mediums as well. She has been a part of several TV serials, such as Chinthavishtayaya Seetha (2016), Seetha (2017), Manampole Mangalyam (2020), and Amma Makal (2021), among others.

Vijay has hosted various TV shows and participated in a few as well. She has also been part of multiple short films, advertisements, and music videos over the past few years.
