Storytelling and psychology by Andy Stoeva and Tobiasz Dunin
Julia Polaczek and Nel Kaczmarek as Julia and her sister Marta in Wet Monday. Director Justyna Mytnik: 'As soon as I met then-15-year-old Julia, I decided instantaneously that I wanted her to play the main role' Photo: Courtesy of Warsaw Film Festival When she was in her teens, Justyna Mytnik decided to become a filmmaker. She is experienced in many areas: she studied English Literature and History of Art at the University of Edinburgh, then her path led her to the Łódź film school in Poland and later – to theatre. During her theatrical practice she met Rosanna Hall, one of her future co-writers for her debut feature Wet Monday. Mytnik wrote and polished this project together with Hall and Monika Dembińska, combining her passion for storytelling with her interest in adolescent psychology affected by trauma.

Line producer Luiza Skrzek believes that Mytnik’s feature debut required serious preparation.
