Jay Palmieri Jr. is an award-winning horror filmmaker based in New York and New Jersey. He has written/directed 11 short horror films and 2 feature films.

His love for the horror genre truly began when he was 10 years old. Considers the John Carpenter and Debra Hill 1978 horror film, Halloween the film that inspired him to pursue a horror filmmaking career. During Jay's middle and high school years, he wrote and filmed over 51 short films for fun on his video camera with his friends as the cast. Once he graduated from high school, he attended the New York Film Academy. He graduated from NYFA in August 2011.

Since graduating from NYFA, Jay has wrote/directed 11 films, 9 short films and 2 feature films. Including his award-winning LGBT horror films, Taste (2016) and Léa (2016), both starring Christina Toth ("Orange Is The New Black") in the lead roles. In 2021, he shot 4 films, his holiday horror short films: Carve (2021) and Carved (2021), along with his zoom horror short Digital Coven (2022) which he co-wrote and co-directed with Amanda Troisi, and his sophomore feature film, Soulmate (2022) which he co-wrote and co-directed with Andrew Froening. This turned out to be his most creative year so far.

Aside from writing/directing his own projects, Jay also was Script Supervisor on the award-winning musical films "Lifeless" (Dir. VP Boyle), "Naked" (Dir. Sean Robinson), "Gingerbread House" (Dir. VP Boyle), and on Broadway Actress Catherine Porter's music video "A Good Day To Die".

For fun, Jay also likes to appear in front of the camera occasionally and do cameo appearances. He had featured roles in the short films "Lifeless", "Ascension", "Gingerbread House", and supporting roles in "Production Workshop", "The Last Event", and "Naked". He has been featured as a High School Student on a few episodes of The CW series "The Carrie Diaries" and pilot episode of ABC Family's "Twisted". Jay also appeared as a Dancer in singer/songwriter Wynter Gordon's 2011 music video "Til Death" and as a "Club Goer" in Kelsey Chaos' music video "In For The Kill" and Tatiana Lima's music video "Witch Bitch".

Jay Palmieri Jr. hopes one day his name will join the ranks of fellow Horror Legends John Carpenter, Wes Craven, Alfred Hitchcock, Dario Argento, Jamie Lee Curtis, Mario Bava, Danielle Harris, etc.
