‘The Sims’ Reality-Competition TV Show Coming to TBS, BuzzFeed

Twenty years after its debut, durable gaming title “The Sims” is getting the reality-tv show treatment — a la “Project Runway” — in which 12 contestants vie for a $100,000 grand prize.

Electronic Arts’ “The Sims Spark’d,” a show centered on challenges in the virtual-world game, will launch later this month on TBS under Turner Sports’ ELeague esports and gaming entertainment brand, as well as on BuzzFeed Multiplayer, which covers gaming, cosplay and game culture.

In the four-episode show, which premieres July 17, notable members of “The Sims” online community will compete in skills and elimination challenges in the simulation game, racing against the clock to impress the three-judge panel. The 12 contestants each specialize in an element of “The Sims 4” gameplay.

Life simulation video game The Sims is at the center of a new reality competition series for TBS called The Sims Spark'd.

The four-episode series from Electronic Arts, Turner Sports gaming brand Eleague and Buzzfeed Multiplayer, will showcase voices from The Sims community, with top players — who are used to creating stories in the game — competing in timed challenges to win the title of most creative storyteller and a cash prize of up to $100,000.

BuzzFeed To Host ‘Internet Live’ Variety Show With Lil Nas X, JoJo Siwa, Jason Nash
BuzzFeed is launching a new live event endeavor dubbed Internet Live, whereby the digital publisher will bring trending topics to the stage in an hourlong variety show format.

Internet Live will take place next Thursday at New York City’s Webster Hall, and will feature a performance from rapper du jour Lil Nas X, as well as appearances by JoJo Siwa (pictured above), Jersey Shore Family Vacation star Nicole ‘Snooki’ Polizzi, uplifting dance video creator Donté Colley, 'Damn Daniel' stars Daniel Lara and Josh Holzz, nine-year-old sketch comedian Ava Ryan, Zoe ‘Disaster Girl’ Roth, teen climate change activist Alexandria Villaseñor, Broadway star Shoshana Bean, vlogger Jason Nash, and BuzzFeed personalities Kelsey Impicciche and Eric Tabach.
