    • Maria Isabella Rojas was born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Arriving in the U.S. at only two years old, her parents decided to settle in Jackson Heights, Queens. Then spent half her life on the other side on the bridge in Northern New Jersey. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Performing Arts and Social Justice (PASJ) from the University of San Francisco and trained at Atlantic Theater Company's full time conservatory. Having such a strong foundation centered in social justice truly sparked a passion in her training to tell stories that empower her diverse community.

      Maria Isabella has the proud honor of working with a collective of excellent teachers throughout her path in enhancing her craft. In New York she has worked with Mercedes Ruehl, Austin Pendleton, Fred Weller, Wynn Handman Studio, Alan Langdon, Heidi Marshall and Susan Pilar. In Los Angeles, she studied with Ivana Chubbuck Studio, Sam Christensen, The Groundlings and Taylor Kasch. She's also been a company member of the Flying H GroupTheater in Ventura, CA where she was Veronica in The Motherfucker with the Hat. Other theater credits include Good People (Kate), Death of a Salesman (Letta) at Santa Paula Theater, zounds! (Aphrodite) at Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Film and television credits include Kodak Shirley, Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon and was a day player on a few episodes of the most popular late night series of all time"Saturday Night Live".

      Maria is a proud producer at a New York City based theatre production company called Lone Star Theatre which is run by an all Latiné Artist Collective. During the pandemic, she also officially co-founded an all female film production company called MARLEX Films.
