Rep. Mike Collins (R-Georgia) announced his bid for the U.S. Senate, but mispelled Georgia in his initial campaign ad. In the video posted to X, Collins says, “We’ve got to be absolutely unrelenting. We’ve got to be unafraid to fight. We’ve got to be unafraid to call balls and strikes, a spade a spade.” Following his statements, text pops up on the screen that reads “Georiga, let’s ride.” People in the comments quickly noticed the error from Collins’ team. The video has more comments than likes, with most people laughing at the error. “Georiga needs you!” one person joked. “Is Georiga the 51st state?” another person quipped. The video remained up on X for over 48 hours. Collins’ GOP challengers will include Derek Dooley, a former college football coach. Incumbent Democratic Sen. Jon Ossoff is also up for reelection.
