Maayan was born in Jerusalem to Yaakov, an engineer at a high-tech company, and Rachel, a hospital surgical worker and singer. Maayan is a descendant of Rabbi David Ben Hussein, one of the greatest poets of Moroccan Jewry. She grew up in Gan Yavne, a settlement in Israel, and danced classical ballet. In this context, she successfully passed the level exams of the Royal Academy of Ballet in London. Maayan graduated from Gan Yavne High School with a degree in theater and performed as a dancer in Israel and abroad. After graduating, she served in the Paratrooper Brigade.
After her military service, she studied acting at an acting school under the direction of Eyal Cohen and studied acting for the camera with Ruth Deitches, her beloved teacher in Israel, who was especially beloved by Maayan. Ruth accompanied Maayan in all of her roles.
Her first appearance was in 2010, when she played a role in the film "Honor" . A year later, she appeared in Marco Carmel's film "My Beautiful Sister." In 2012, she played in the series Psychopath, playing Ossi, a character who falls in love with a psychopath.
She then began acting in the television series Be With Her, created by Assi Ezer. In this series, Maayan plays the clumsy but graceful secretary of Zvika (Mark Onir - Schindler's List and more), directed by Oded Raskin (Drops of God). Maayan appeared in the first two seasons of the series. The character Maayan played - "Limor" won the audience's love.
That same year, she participated in the prank show Ambush, hosted by Ofer Shechter and directed by Yigal Shiillon. In one episode, Maayan played the obsessive ex-girlfriend of Lihi Griner's partner, who breaks into her house.
Maayan played a leading role in Daniel Jaedlin's film, Folie a Trois. In the film, she played "Pixie", a kind and innocent prostitute with a mental disorder. The film participated in the Utopia Festival and more.
She then began acting in theater productions, and in 2016 she took on the lead role in the play Cinderella, alongside Dori Ben Zeev.
In 2017, she appeared in the television series "Falling on Our Feet", starring Maali Avital, and in the second season of the series Sirenot. In Sirens, she played Hanait, a schizophrenic girl hospitalized in a mental institution, alongside actress Maggie Azaarzer.
In 2020, she was chosen, alongside Yuval Samo, to be a presenter in the advertising campaign for the credit card company Isracard.
A film she created and wrote, directed by Yariv Horowitz (director of Rock in the Casbah, which won the Audience Favorite Award at the C.I.C.A.E. Awards ceremony in March 2013 and at the Bergamo Festival in Italy), The Broken Police, in which she plays the lead role, is set to be released. The film also stars Hanna Laszlo, who won at the Cannes Film Festival.
