Birthname Ævar Örn Jóhannsson, the oldest of three brothers. Hansel Eagle
comes from the small town of Bolungarvík in the Wild West fjords of Iceland.
Left home at the age of 16 to study languages in a boarding school at Laugarvatn in Iceland where he also got elected to the student council as the head of all sport activities for the school. Graduated from Laugarvatn with a diploma in languages (incl. French, Deutsch, Danish, Icelandic and Esperanto) and a special reward for the Deutsch language. Then the road led to Costa Rica, in Central America, to study the Spanish language and to do volunteer work with troubled teenagers. In his spare time he would travel to other countries in Central America to see new things and experience different cultures.
Did a year studying arts in Denmark before moving back to Iceland to study anatomy and physical therapy. Then moved back abroad, next up was Norway. There he was a ski instructor for a few years before he went back to school to study mechanical engineering.
He also did modelling in Norway for Åsnes (a well known ski and clothing brand in Norway) and Think Hair Wear.
His life long friend, writer and director Snævar Sölvason, offered him the lead roll in the movie, Albatross (2015) and that kick started his acting career. Since then he has mainly been doing modelling and acting (commercials, short films and now his second lead in a full feature is in production) with a short side step when he became a World Yoga Alliance certified yoga teacher, from the Mandala Studio in Kathmandu, Nepal.
