Justin Schenck
Being in love with both film and personal rejection, Justin ventured into the entertainment industry in 2000.

On the set of his first movie, this lowly Visual Effects PA found himself watching the director try to explain a scene to two actors. Through repeated puffs of a strange white powder - and the resulting verbal gibberish - he saw the director flail and gesture, spin and twirl, clutch his breast and shake his fist at the heavens, finally leaving the two actors.. who just stared at each other in fear and disbelief. It was a changing moment.

It became clear to Justin that he should study acting to learn how to communicate with them. And so he did. Studying with Lelia Goldoni, Ivanna Chubbuck, Maria Gobetti and Tom Ormeny, he leapt into the world of auditions. He instantly became too short, too young, too old, too tall, and not as good as the producer's cousin. Dreams were born, died, resurrected, and died again. The ashes of his psyche fell down around him, along with his hair. And his hope. He was truly on the path.

So naturally he turned to writing. He worked polishing scripts and doing coverage for horror scripts that seemed more like episodes of Scooby-Do than actual films. He saved up for a decent camera, went into monstrous debt, and spent long hours contemplating his life's decisions. It was all coming together.

Post production seemed only fitting. He began working in VFX departments as an artist. Eventually he became a Post Supervisor and Producer. He got hired by George Rizkallah, one of the most knowledgeable and decent men in town.

And although he forgot to update his IMDb page religiously, he simply neglected to care. Somehow along the way, Justin stopped caring about the things outside himself. He stopped chasing what he imagined would be a "good" outcome for himself, and instead learned to simply enjoy the life he was living - by helping others.

He would be dead and forgotten one day, he claimed, so why not enjoy every day and every project.. and just see what happens.
