Natalie Cole’s younger sisters, twins Timolin and Casey Cole, are devastated over the sudden death of their nephew Robert Yancy, who was found dead Monday in California.

“We are at a loss for words,” the twins, who carry on the family’s legacy through their work with Nat King Cole Generation Hope, tell People exclusively.

“He was deeply saddened over the loss of his mother,” adds Timolin of Robert, who was Cole and late singer and producer Marvin Yancy’s only child.

“When Natalie died, he lost the most important person in his life. It was very hard for him.

Natalie Cole's son died on Monday, a rep for the Cole family confirms to Et. Yancy was 39.

Watch: Natalie Cole's Family Releases Singer's Cause of Death

Yancy died of a heart attack, with law enforcement listing his cause of death as natural causes pending the completion of an autopsy and toxicology test. Drugs were not involved in Yancy's death.

Family members say that Yancy, who worked in the music industry, had never abused drugs and was "turning his life around."

Cole fought drug addiction for years until her 2015 death, while Yancy's father, pastor and gospel musician Marvin Yancy, died of a heart attack at age 34.

Robert Yancy – the only son of iconic singer Natalie Cole, and grandson of performer Nat King Cole – has died, TMZ reported. He was 39.

Yancy was reportedly found by a friend in his San Fernando Valley, California, apartment. According to the outlet, Yancy died of natural causes, pending the completion of an autopsy and toxicology tests.
