Diogo Tavares was born in Lisbon, Portugal. He began his training at the Escola Profissional de Teatro de Cascais, where he finished the course with the Zita Duarte prize. At the age of 21, he completed his degree at the Escola Superior de Teatro e Cinema.
As soon as he graduated, he starred in several short films and participated in the theatre play "Saint Joan of the Slaughterhouses",
by Bertolt Brecht, enacted by Bernard Sobel, in Portugal. Recently, he was recording the film "Mãe" where he is one of the protagonists.
