It comes as no surprise that the WWE Superstars have a knack for wrestling, and sooner or later, the wrestlers make a transition in their career and hope to make it big in Tinsel Town. Over the years, renowned talents like Dwayne Johnson, John Cena, Dave Batista, Big Show, and many more have made their debut in films or TV series.

However, Show’s appearance was significantly different from his locker room colleague, as fans were confused about his role in the fantasy horror series, Van Helsing. Despite the show concluding back in 2021, fans are still confused to this day about the star’s role and what its significance was in the plot.

“Gen V” Season finally has a premiere date, and just in time for the new school year, too.

Prime Video’s college-based spinoff of “The Boys” returns Sept. 17 with the premiere of the first three episodes, available in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide. New episodes will follow weekly with the second season finale airing Wednesday, October 22.

Season 2 picks up where Season 4 of “The Boys” left off — with Homelander (Antony Starr) firmly established as America’s brutal new fascist dictator and pretty much everyone who opposes him, with the sole exception of Starlight (Erin Moriarty), shoved into gulags at best.

In "A Normal, Boring Life," the teen timeline shows Shauna (Sophie Nélisse) and Lottie (Courtney Eaton) asserting their power, facing off with Natalie (Sophie Thatcher), who wants to get the hell out of the wilderness. Convinced they're "safer" where they are, Shauna and Lottie pull Tai (Jasmin Savoy Brown) over to their side and engage in a standoff.

The sixth episode of Yellowjackets Season 3 debuted on Paramount+ with Showtime on Friday and left fans devastated by the brutal demise of Coach Ben Scott (Steven Krueger). In "Thanksgiving (Canada)," Ben has lived to fight another day but soon begs the Yellowjackets to put him out of his misery once and for all. After Akilah (Keeya King) has a vision that Ben is their "bridge" to safety, the teenagers tie him up with the animals — and slit his Achilles tendon just to make sure he doesn't go anywhere. Tormented with guilt, Natalie (Sophie Thatcher) eventually sneaks into his camp and plunges a knife through his heart.

With Ben primed to be barbecued, the Yellowjackets prepare a ritual feast, only to be discovered by the first humans they've seen since their plane crashed in the Canadian Rockies.

You might think that The Gilded Age, HBO's mannered period drama about feather-light conflict between members of the upper crust in 1880s New York City, doesn't have anything in common with Gen V, a spinoff of The Boys where college students get their heads lasered off by sociopathic superheroes. And you'd be right...except for one thing: both of them are greatly expanding their casts ahead of their new seasons: that's season 3 for The Gilded Age and season 2 for Gen V.

Let's start with The Gilded Age, which counts the likes of Carrie Coon, Morgan Spector, Louisa Jacobson, Denee Benton, Taissa Farmiga, and Harry Richardson among its cast. Deadline reports on six new cast members coming aboard for season 3, some of them playing real-life figures from the time:

David Harbour and Jason Bateman — the latter of whom is replacing Pedro Pascal, who was originally on board when the project was first reported in 2022 — will star in and executive-produce the limited series. Writer, director and showrunner Steven Conrad will also executive-produce. Additional EPs include Jason Blumenthal, Steve Tisch, Molly Allen, Bruce Terris, Michael Costigan, Kristina Wenson and James Lasdun.

“Gen V” has added seven new cast members to the popular “The Boys” spinoff series, which returns for Season 2 in 2025.

The new additions include Keeya King (“Yellow Jackets”), Stephen Kalyn (“Warrior Strong”), Julia Knope (“In The Dark”), Stacey McGunnigle (“This Hour Has 22 Minutes”), Tait Fletcher (“The Mandalorian”), Wyatt Dorion (“Eerie Hall”) and Georgie Murphy (“Accused”).

For now, there are no confirmed details about the actors’ characters, but they’ll likely come in as new Godolkin University students, staff members or, perhaps, some of the Vought crew.

Returning cast members from Season 1 include Jaz Sinclair, Lizze Broadway, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Derek Luh and Asa Germann. The Friday casting news comes nearly eight months after the tragic death of Chance Perdomo, who played GodU favorite Andre Anderson in the first season. He died at age 27 in a motorcycle accident in March.

With their new horror thriller Guess Who, Tubi may finally have come up with a fairly original idea for one of their films. As far as I can tell, it’s the first film to use mummering as a major plot point. No, not mummies, mummering. What is mummering? Mummering is a Christmas-time house-visiting tradition practised in Newfoundland and Labrador, Ireland, and the City of Philadelphia. It adds a touch of Halloween to the season as people would dress in disguise and go door to door. If they were invited in, they’d give some kind of performance while their hosts tried to guess who they were.

Keeya King was replaced by Nia Sondaya in the role of Akilah for Yellowjackets season 2, but the reason for the departure was never officially explained. Recasting is common in TV, but it was an odd departure for the creepy series. Nia Sondaya proved herself to be just as capable in the role of Akilah, as she portrayed the character's descent into madness and participation in the group's cannibalism. The ending of season 2 left Akilah in a fascinating position, and her fate may be revealed in season 3. Since leaving Yellowjackets, Keeya King has kept herself busy with various projects, including starring in the thriller film Rush For Your Life and the Bruce Willis-led film Detective Knight: Rogue. She has expanded her horizons as a dramatic actor and continues to find work.

Season 2 of the Showtime series Yellowjackets (read our review of the new season Here) is scheduled to begin airing on Showtime on March 26th, but fans can also catch the first episode of season 2 streaming and On Demand as of today. As we head into the second season, Showtime has unveiled two cool pieces of marketing that’s very fitting for a show that partially takes place in 1996: a ’90s-style MTV News video (complete with Kurt Loder!) that covers the news of the disappearance of the titular Yellowjackets, and directs viewers to a ’90s-style website, WhereAretheYellowjackets.com. Season 2 of the Showtime series Yellowjackets is set to begin airing on March 26th, and with that date just a couple months away Variety has broken the news that viewers will be seeing three new faces in recurring roles when the season starts airing. Nicole Maines (Supergirl), François Arnaud (The Borgias), and Nia Sondaya (Truth Be Told) have joined the cast, with Maines taking on the role of Lisa, “an associate of Adult Lottie, who is trying to recover from past trauma”; Arnaud playing Paul, “a New York writer and secret boyfriend of Coach Scott who reminds Coach Scott of what might have been”; and Sondaya replacing Keeya King as Teen Akilah.

Variety notes that Arnaud’s character Paul will be in four of the new season’s episodes.

Sometimes I wonder why I punish myself with movies. Case in point, Detective Knight: Rogue. Another in Bruce Willis’ direct-to-market series of films, and yes we all know why he went down the route with his film career; this film comes from filmmakers Edward Drake and Corey Large, two men who between them have made some of the worst films of Willis’ oeuvre – Breach, Apex Predator and American Siege; with only Cosmic Sin, the second of the trio’s collaborations, providing a modicum of interest.

This film looks to be yet another lower-budgeted direct-to-video release for the action star, except this one might be part of an already shot trilogy? In it, Willis plays a Los Angeles cop that sees an uptick in bank robberies in the city from an elite group of thieves.

And in the absence of the Wonderland Gang, the masked menaces have risen up to terrorize the city, much to the dismay of… everyone. The gang is led by a businessman Roman Sionis, who moonlights as Black Mask (Peter Outerbridge) and he has a bandaged—and soon to be entirely remodeled—Kate locked away. Black Mask has a grudge with Batwoman for killing his daughter, and that may be his motive for whatever he’s doing with Kate, which includes having Enigma alter her memories. Though short on specific plot details about the upcoming season, the cast and crew, nonetheless, give fans a behind-the-scenes look at the daunting challenges the show faces as the first television series to resume production in North America.

Syfy said today that production has resumed on the fifth and final season of Van Helsing, its action-horror series from Nomadic Pictures and Dynamic Television. Sons of Anarchy alum Kim Coates has joined the cast along with Ali Liebert and Steve Bacic.

Coates — who co-starred as “Tig” Trager on Soa — will play Count Dalibor, the husband of Olivia who, despite his best intentions, makes some disastrous choices. Liebert will play Nina, a vampire with a colorful past that involves Julius (Aleks Paunovic) and a hidden agenda that entails a lot of death. Bacic will portray the father, a wild vampire who dresses in animal skins and has been hiding in an abandoned mine with a child.

Kelly Overton, Jonathan Scarfe, Tricia Helfer, Keeya King, Paunovic and Nicole Munoz star in Van Helsing, which its producers say is the first drama series to restart filming in Canada — namely Kamloops and Vancouver.

Van Helsing Season 4 Episode 13

With news of its fifth and final season renewal firmly in place, Van Helsing sends viewers on a mind bending journey that promises to retool the familiar storyline and teases the notion that a new generation of vampire slayers may be ready to take up the family mantle. With Vanessa presumably still trapped in the Dark Realm, “The Beholder” puts the season finale’s focus squarely on the shoulders of Jack and Violet, and the genetically engineered sisters do not disappoint. But let’s not lose sight of the fact that without the guiding hand and hard earned wisdom of Sgt Axel Miller, it’s entirely possible that this fight might have been over long ago.

Syfy has been cleaning house and has cancelled a lot of its TV series lately -- shows with better and worse ratings than Van Helsing's. Only a few of the channel's existing series have been renewed.
