Entrepreneur Mauricio Betancur is the principle force that drives a
group of companies in the entertainment (CEO, Haven Entertainment),
consulting (CEO, KucuHead), and fashion (President, Kandy Kiss of
California) industries, with offices in New York, Los Angeles, Las
Vegas, Miami and Shanghai. Born in Medellin, Colombia in October of
1967, where he spent his first 10 years of his life with his immediate
family. He immigrated to The United States in 1977 where he went to
school and later joined the military in his early years, which was the
key driving force to the path to his current successes. Under
Mauricio's leadership for the past 11 years, Kandy Kiss of California
has gone from a $10 million company to a $1 billion company, becoming
one of the leaders in private label clothing. Kandy Kiss employs more
than 250 people in 5 offices worldwide and works with companies such as
Target, JC Penney, Wal-Mart, and Kohl's, to name a few. Established in
2005, KucuHead Inc. is a diversified consulting firm specializing in
clothing, film, music, real estate and entrepreneurial start-up
companies. His latest endeavor, Haven Entertainment, is one of the
fastest growing entertainment companies. Acting as the company's CEO
and Executive Producer, Mauricio has been instrumental in Haven
Entertainment's acquisition of additional companies and seeking talent
in an effort to diversify Haven Entertainment into a multi-platform
media channel. While establishing himself in the business world,
Mauricio's passion for helping and giving back led him to become an
ambassador for Village Care International. An organization established
to empower the people of Africa by equipping communities and their
leaders with practices that allow vulnerable populations to thrive. He
has dedicated the resources of the aforementioned companies to enhance
Village Care's work throughout more than 10 countries and 1,200
villages. In his spare time, Mauricio loves to spend his time with his
family in Miami, traveling to exotic places, and watching his favorite
pastime game of baseball.
