Adam Tsuei has produced box-office hits such as Na xie nian, wo men yi qi zhui de nu hai (2011) (You Are the Apple of My Eye), Xiao shi dai (2013) (Tiny Times 1), Xiao shi dai 2: Qing mu shi dai (2013) (Tiny Times 2) and Deng yi ge ren ka fei (2014) (Café, Waiting, Love). After playing a successful role as film producer, Tsuei moved on to directing his first film, Lou xia de fang ke (2016) (The Tenants Downstairs), based on Giddens Ko's novel with an aim of transferring the film into an artful combination of "fear" and "black humour".
