Bobby Calloway was born to Irish parents and spent the first seven years of his life in Borehamwood, Heartfordshire in the UK. But the family relocated back to Ireland where they have remained ever since. A performer at heart, he first entered the entertainment industry by pursuing a career as a professional wrestler.
He competed as "The People's Choice", an energetic high flyer billed from Manhattan, New York - for four years. However a nasty ACL tear put an end to his wrestling career after only four years and, rather than the usual industry line "never say never", he's kept it to never.
Still with a creative void to be fulfilled, he transitioned into acting, writing and directing, having studied the latter at Carlow IT, and began the new phase of his career in 2017. He has focused almost exclusively on screen work ever since, though did manage to acquire some Shakespearean experience in a production of King Lear.
In addition to acting and writing, he also launched a YouTube channel in 2018 titled 'BetterWithBob?', devoted to film and television appreciation, focusing primarily on the series Charmed.
He released his first novel The Shallow Ocean in 2024.
