After his switch from comedy, Jason Bateman teamed up with Netflix for one of the streamer's best crime dramas, Ozark. After the immense success of the show, he worked with Netflix again for 2024's biggest action film, Carry-On.
His latest project, the crime drama Black Rabbit, continues Bateman's long line of morally gray characters. This time, he teams up with Jude Law, playing his chaotic brother. Ahead of Black Rabbit's release on Sept. 18, Netflix has officially released the trailer, which can be seen below.
The first trailer shows Vince in trouble, with Jake left to clean up his mess. That includes paying $20k a week for a loan Vince hadn't paid in years.

Jason Bateman’s demons come back to haunt his brother, played by Jude Law, in the trailer for the pair’s anticipated Netflix limited series, Black Rabbit.
In the series created by Zach Baylin and Kate Susman, Bateman and Law play estranged brothers, with younger Bateman, Vince, reuniting with big brother Jake and bringing chaos with him to Jake’s hotspot bar and restaurant at the foot of the Brooklyn Bridge, the Black Rabbit.
“What do you think happens when you don’t pay back a loan for three years?” asks Jake (Law) to his brother, who says he has a “big number” in debt. But Jake has financial struggles of his own trying to maintain his success. The trailer shows the brothers running from several life-and-death scenarios, as Vince (Bateman) drags his brother into his mess.
All eight episodes of Black Rabbit release on Netflix Sept. 18.

Funnily enough, I had recently binged through classic episodes of Arrested Development and seeing Jason Bateman in this trailer reminds me of how he can bounce back and forth from comedy to drama pretty easily. Netflix has just dropped the trailer to Black Rabbit, which sees Bateman get mixed up with the worst kind of people and his brother, played here by Jude Law, is attempting to help square things. The 8-episode limited series is also executive produced by Law and Bateman, and is set to stream on Netflix on September 18.
The official synopsis from Netflix reads,
“Set against the backdrop of New York City’s high-pressure nightlife scene, Black Rabbit centers around two brothers who learn just how far family, and the pursuit of success, can push them to the edge. In the trailer for “Black Rabbit,” Jude Law and Jason Bateman play brothers in a rough patch. While Jake Friedken (Law) runs the Black Rabbit, one of the hottest night spots in New York, his brother Vince (Bateman) threatens to topple everything after reentering his life and business with a heap of unpaid debt.
The trailer teases a high-stakes series full of high thrills from Netflix, with Jake and Vince attempting to square their debt with the intimidating Joe Mancuso (Troy Kotsur). With Vince’s mounting loan having accumulated for three years, the pair must do whatever they can to make their payments on time, keep the Black Rabbit afloat — and keep themselves alive.
“Everything’s falling apart,” Jake tells Vince early in the trailer. “My family, the restaurant. I’m holding on by the skin of my teeth. I didn’t budget for you.” You can watch the full trailer below.
