Neil is a working-class award winning neurodivergent writer and director for film and television. Neil gained critical acclaim for his short film Mirrors which he wrote and directed which premiered at the BFI Flare Film Festival and was released on Boys on Film 11 and screened at festivals across the world. He was runner-up for Best of British at Iris Prize 2015.

Neil co-wrote and directed stage musical Closets performed at Hope Mill Theatre to sell out audiences and rave reviews.

Neil is now working alongside Grammy Award Winner Eliot Kennedy, and co-writer Lloyd Eyre-Morgan, to develop a new musical. Furthermore, Neil is currently set to co-write a new, exciting, British Horror film, Kill PILL.

In 2020, Neil co-wrote and created a coming of age short film S.A.M, (available on ALL 4) which explores acceptance and how people living with a learning disability can feel about love and sexuality. The film was supported by Mencap and stars Cbeebies presenter and Mencap ambassador George Webster, Hollyoaks actor David Tag and Ackley Bridge's Sam Retford.

Neil, and the team behind S.A.M, are currently in development for a future length version.
