Dhiraj Mishra stepped in the industry initially as a film Journalist. Also wrote a novel named as Patjhad Aur Bahar and theatre plays, One of which was based on India's Ex Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Then later on he entered into television industry as an independent writer and wrote many popular serials. But soon he lost his interest as he found the job repetitive. He then moved towards movies.
He is known for different kind of cinema today. He's known for Patriotic Films, His first film, Jai Jawaan Jai Kisaan. Which was based on the life of 2nd Prime Minister of Independent India Mr. Laal Bahadur Shastri. His second film Chapekar Brothers was appreciated by masses, Which was based on the life of freedom fighter brothers trio from Pune. Manoj Kumar himself gave Dhiraj the title of 'Bharat Kumar'. His Third film, Main Khudiram Bose Hun was based on the life of Indian youngest freedom fighter from Bengal. Dhiraj is now coming up with his fourth film Gaalib which is a story of a teenager who tops 10th board examination in Jammu and Kashmir after the death of his father who's been accused of being a terrorist.
