Indian actor Raghav Juyal has been cast in director Srikanth Odela’s upcoming film “The Paradise,” headlined by Nani.
The film is an examination of societal prejudice set against the backdrop of 1980s Secunderabad. It follows a marginalized tribe stripped of their rights who find hope in an unlikely leader who guides their fight for citizenship and recognition in a system designed to keep them oppressed.
Juyal is known for his performances in Toronto selection “Kill” and ZEE5 series “Gyaarah Gyaarah.”
“We initially imagined a lean guy with a thick mustache for this ruthless role. But after watching ‘Kill’ and witnessing Raghav’s menacing performance, we were convinced he was the perfect fit. He brought a raw intensity that completely won us over. We’re truly excited about what he brings to this character,” Odela said about casting Juyal.

We have the official statement from Babil Khan’s family and team.
“Over the past few years, Babil Khan has earned immense love and appreciation for his work, as well as for his openness about his mental health journey. Like anyone else, Babil is allowed to have difficult days — and this was one of them. We want to reassure all his well-wishers that he is safe and will be feeling better soon.
That said, a video of Babil has been widely misinterpreted and taken out of context.
In the clip, Babil was sincerely acknowledging a few of his peers whom he believes are making meaningful contributions to the evolving landscape of Indian cinema. His mention of artists like Ananya Panday, Shanaya Kapoor, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Raghav Juyal, Adarsh Gourav, Arjun Kapoor, and Arijit Singh came from a place of genuine admiration — for their authenticity, passion, and efforts to restore credibility and heart in the industry.

2024 for Hindi movies was like a kickback to the countless number of Box-office turners we got last year. After the sheer storm that movies like Pathaan, Jawan, Animal, and Gadar 2 brought out at the Box Office (their questionable quality aside), 2024 turned out to be a year where Hindi cinema got its mojo back – in particular the little gems that often go unnoticed.
Sure there was the usual pile of absolute garbage across all fronts and genres, but this year could be seen as a slightly better outing for Bollywood. Thanks in large part to some small-budgeted fares that had minor ambitions and even minor Box office runs. However, for those of us who like to go out of our way to get to the core of such movies, it was a good time.

Siddhant Chaturvedi is a talented actor who played a rapper in Gully Boy as though born to do so. But a typical Hindi film hero, he is not. In director Ravi Udyawar’s Yudhra which means the fight, t is phonetically very close to Yudh, which was the title of Rajiv Rai’s action-musical 1985 blockbuster.
The two films. 49 years apart, are close country cousins. Nothing changes in mainstream Hindi cinema, except the faces, though they continue to express the same range of expressions from A to B. The hero of Udyawar’s scrappily written bonecruncher is remarkably expressionless.
Luckily Siddhant Chaturvedi who plays the titutal bulldozer, has little scope or occasion to act, except in the pre-climax where he presumes his girl is dead.
Yudhra sobs. The audience in the theatre burst out laughing.
For the rest Chaturvedi clenches his fists grits his pearlywhite teeth and roars towards the villains with bullish energy.

The much-anticipated trailer for Yudhra, directed by Ravi Udyawar and starring Siddhant Chaturvedi and Malavika Mohanan, has finally been unveiled, giving audiences a glimpse into an intense and gritty action-thriller. Produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar under the banner of Excel Entertainment, the film centers around Siddhant’s character, Yudhra, a man battling severe anger issues who is thrust into a dangerous mission.
The trailer opens with Yudhra narrating his story, which he intriguingly links to the Mahabharata, claiming that while he might not be Abhimanyu, he identifies with Arjun, Abhimanyu’s father. The visuals quickly establish Yudhra as a volatile character, showing him working in a factory where he violently confronts his co-workers, going so far as to crush one of their hands in a machine. His girlfriend, Nikhat (played by Malavika Mohanan), pleads with him to control his temper, hinting at a troubled relationship burdened by his aggression.

It’s a common misconception that Hollywood is at the top of everything sci-fi. Ever since the ’40s, Japan has actually dominated this field, both in the live-action and animated mediums. China has been making great strides in the genre too. And then there’s the South Korean entertainment industry that’s at the forefront of everything that’s synonymous with the genre. But, as the Asian country that makes the most number of films in a year, India has always fallen short for some reason or another. Yes, even the ones that we consider to be “good” are because we are nostalgic about them, not because they’re qualitatively superior to their peers. That said, recently, I feel that we’re making some competent stuff in the form of Baar Baar Dekho, Churuli, Minnal Murali, and Ayalaan. And, I guess for the first time ever, the Hindi entertainment industry...

Bad Boys: Ride or Die is a film about retribution and redemption. Not just on screen, but in execution. Aspiring emergency room doctors may want to check out Kill, a film that truly lives up to its name.
Depicting the gory mayhem that results when dozens of dacoits, or armed bandits, take over a moving train, Nikhil Nagesh Bhat’s Hindi-language action film could serve as a medical school primer on the effects of stab wounds and bludgeoning on the human body. The director and action coordinators deserve a lot of praise, but it’s the makeup and prosthetics designers that should be singled out for their contributions, which will have squeamish audience members closing their eyes. The sound designers, who provided the nasty aural accompaniment to the gore, come in a close second.
As with most films of this type, the set-up is simple and quick. Army commando Amrit (Lakshya) and his best friend and fellow soldier Viresh (Abhishek Chauhan) board an overnight train to New Delhi in...

Stars: Lakshya, Raghav Juyal, Abhishek Chauhan, Tanya Maniktala | Written and Directed by Nikhil Nagesh Bhat, Ayesha Syed
As a train heads to New Dehli, army commando Amrit (Lakshya) is on board after finding out that his one-true love Tulika (Tanya Maniktala) has got engaged against her will. While there, around 40 thieves are also on board, intent on stealing the phones and belongings of those around them. What ensues is bloodthirsty chaos while on the move, as Amrit teams up with another commando to take them all on.
If we’re being honest with ourselves, it’s incredibly lazy to compare movies to ones that have come before — but that enters a new level when we compare Western films to international industries. In the case of Indian flick Kill, the comparison was established before it was even released… just think of John Wick on a train, or The Raid meets Die Hard.

Hindi action films have long been a vehicle for celebrating male machismo and glorifying hero worship. They are often depicted as larger-than-life characters who are infallible, and their moral compass is unwavering. Such attributes most of the time helped filmmakers catering to the masses enhance the larger-than-life persona of their superstar to perpetuate traditional notions of masculinity and create enduring archetypes that resonate with audiences. This strategy has most of the time helped such films to set the cash registers ringing at the box office. Nikhil Nagesh Bhat’s Kill also features an invincible fighting machine as a protagonist who can single-handedly take on multiple adversaries and restore justice. What makes this thrilling action drama distinct from following the trend is its lack of idolization of the protagonist and its deviation from traditional notions of masculinity. Set within the confines of a train, the less-than-two-hour pulse-pounding fest is filled with graphic,...
