Nig Richards

Nig Richards has appeared in a number of films and television programmes, some of which may not be featured here. He came late to film, television and theatre work after previously being employed in many professions some of which were lagging pipes in a steelworks, working at a Butlins Holiday Camp, taking up the profession of a window cleaner that didn't like going up ladders, pretending to be a competent toy salesperson, and working in community health projects such as being in charge of operations research in reproductive health in Mauritius. He finally pitched up as a Senior University Lecturer in charge of a social research centre focused on poverty reduction in Africa; a natural progression from Butlins. Being a latecomer to the profession he's not too fussy about what work that he accepts. He is sometimes credited in productions by his full name of Nigel Richards and, annoyingly, some people refer to him as Nige rather than as Nig (with a hard G) the name by which he has been known since growing up among the Scottish population of Corby in Northamptonshire, England. He has three adult children and lives in a village shadowed by the mountains of Snowdonia in Wales. He is a competent musician who can play several instruments to a high standard of proficiency including some that he makes himself. He believes that being on a stage or in front of a camera never gets old and that if you get paid for it then it's even better.
