Mariya Abashova is a Russian ballet dancer. Prima ballerina of the Saint Petersburg Ballet Theater of Boris Eifman. Honored Artist of the Russian Federation. From the age of 9 she began attending classes at a choreographic studio. In 1997-1998 she danced on stage at the Lvov Opera and Ballet Theater. She then studied at the St. Pölten Ballet Conservatory in Austria. In 2002, she participated in the Youth America Grand Prix dance competition in New York and won a gold medal in the senior group among girls. After completing her studies in St. Pölten, she was accepted into the troupe of the Boris Eifman Ballet Theater (St. Petersburg).
