As production on Percy Jackson Season 3 kicks into high gear, the show has just announced several big-time casting additions. Season three of Percy Jackson is currently in production in Vancouver. It’s based on The Titan’s Curse, the third book in author Rick Riordan’s series of novels about the young Greek demigod (Walker Scobell). Leah Sava Jeffries, Aryan Simhadri, Charlie Bushnell, Dior Goodjohn and Daniel Diemer also star in the series.

Rick Riordan has been a huge part of Young Adult fantasy since releasing Percy Jackson & the Olympians in 2005. He continues to captivate readers of all ages with Percy's adventures and struggles to find where he belongs. In 2023, Disney+ released the Percy Jackson television series that sparked the love for Riordan's characters all over again.

While fans eagerly await season 2, Riordan spoke with Screen Rant about the gap between seasons 2 and 3. With one comment, he gave fans hope that we'll see season 3 much sooner after season 2. We've been waiting almost two years to see Percy's journey continue. With the season 2 release coming up in December 2025 and production having started for season 3 in July 2025, the shorter wait seems promising.

It takes a lot to play a demigod on screen in Percy Jackson & the Olympians, Disney+’s hit series based on Rick Riordan’s book series of the same name. But it’s arguably harder to get into the mindset of a cyclops, the challenge faced by Daniel Diemer, the newest addition to the young adult cast of the series, which returns for Season 2 this December.

Diemer stars as Tyson, Percy’s (Walker Scobell) half-brother and new addition to the Camp Half-Blood team who just so happens to be a cyclops. With the mind of a child, Tyson is initially a hindrance to Percy’s quest to rescue Grover (Aryan Simhadri) from the clutches of the much larger and more infamous cyclops Polyphemus, though he eventually grows to love his half-brother, a fan-favorite character whose appearance was highly discussed ahead of the Season 2 trailer released yesterday.

Camp Half-Blood relocated to San Diego Thursday, bringing a slew of announcements about Percy Jackson and the Olympians.

The cast and showrunners of the Disney+ series appeared at Comic-Con for a panel that included news about the coming second season, as well as a key piece of casting for season three, which the streamer ordered shortly after filming on season two wrapped earlier in the year.

For starters, Percy Jackson author and series co-creator/executive producer Rick Riordan announced in a video message that season two, based on Riordan’s second Percy Jackson book, The Sea of Monsters, will premiere Dec. 10. The session also featured the debut of a teaser trailer for the coming season, including the first look at Daniel Diemer as Tyson, the cyclops who befriends Percy (Walker Scobell), and a very brief glimpse at a chariot race at camp. Disney+’s Percy Jackson and the Olympians made quite a splash at San Diego Comic-Con on Thursday.

As part of a Hall H panel attended by cast members Walker Scobell (who plays Percy), Leah Sava Jeffries (Annabeth Chase), Aryan Simhadri (Grover Underwood), Charlie Bushnell (Luke Castellan), Dior Goodjohn (Clarisse La Rue) and Daniel Diemer (Tyson), plus executive producers Jonathan E. Steinberg, Dan Shotz and Craig Silverstein, it was announced by EP/novelist Rick Riordan that Season 2 has a release date of Wednesday, Dec. 10.

Some highly anticipated demigods are headed to Camp Half-Blood, and during the show’s Hall H presentation at San Diego Comic-Con on Thursday morning, fans got their first look at them.

Featuring series stars Walker Scobell, Leah Sava Jeffries, Aryan Simhadri, Charlie Bushnell, Dior Goodjohn and Daniel Diemer, the panel debuted a full teaser for Season 2 of the Disney+ series, and in it came the first footage of Percy’s half-brother Tyson (Diemer).

At this year’s San Diego Comic-Con panel for “Percy Jackson and the Olympians,” the cast and crew took to stage to talk about Season 2 and what’s next for Camp Half-Blood. Creator Rick Riordan revealed that Season 2 will premiere exclusively on Disney+ beginning on Dec. 10.

In addition to the Season 2 release date, Riordan announced that two fan-favorite characters from the children’s book series have officially been cast as Season 3 is set to begin production soon. Levi Chrisopulos is set to star as Nico di Angelo with Olive Abercrombie will play the role of Bianca.
