Alessandro Lui

Alessandro Lui, born in Messina in 1991, left Sicily to study dramatic art in the bilingual Link Academy in Rome. He acquired a bachelor in fine arts, and a master in marketing and cultural management at IED Rome. His theatre debut was in 2012. He was then selected to attend the Biennale di Venezia and he took part of his first feature film "Ragazze a mano armata" directed by Fabio Segatori. In 2014 he worked on a commercial for Coca Cola Zero, which was seen across Europe. He took part in various theatrical productions: "Dignità Autonome di Prostituzione" (dir. Luciano Melchionna), "Amleto" (dir. Ninni Bruschetta), "Immacolata Concezione" (Vuccirìa Teatro), "La Pacchiona "(by Neil LaBute), and more. In 2016 he made his television debut with the TV series "Squadra antimafia 8" produced by Taodue. He then embarked on making a series of independent short films, the first in 2018, "Il ladro di spezie", which won the S.I.A.E. S'Illumina prize. In 2019 another of his short films, "Vittoria per tutti" won a RAI CINEMA prize at RIFF. The following year he took part in two features films: "Il Mio Corpo vi Seppelirà" (dir. Giovanni La Parola) and "Il Caso Pantani" (dir. Domenico Ciolfi). In 2021, he was cast in "From Scratch", an American series for Netflix and in 2022 he was also cast in the role of lawyer Matteo Boccanera, on the original Amazon Prime Video TV series 'The Bad Guy', produced by Indigo Film. In 2024 he played the coroner Adriano Calì in Vanina - Un vicequestore a Catania, produced by Palomar and airing on Mediaset Canale 5.
