Open 24 Hours (2018)
US Trailer for Paranoia Horror 'Open 24 Hours' with Vanessa Grasse
Open 24 Hours (2018)
"I'm not crazy, you know." 4Digital Media has released an official US trailer for an indie horror thriller titled Open 24 Hours, the latest from filmmaker Padraig Reynolds. This originally premiered in 2018 at FrightFest and Fantastic Fest, and it also played at Screamfest, Sitges, and the Telluride Horror Show. Starring Vanessa Grasse as Mary - who suffers from severe paranoia and hallucinations. After setting her serial killer boyfriend on fire, a woman gets a job at an all-night gas station. However, left alone to her own devices, her paranoia and hallucinations return with furious consequences. Customers and friends suddenly start turning up dead and mutilated all around her. Also stars Brendan Fletcher, Cole Vigue, Emily Tennant, and Daniel O’Meara. Why do so many trailers show so much? But I suppose not that many are going to watch this one anyway, might as well entice them with something. Here's the official...

Open 24 Hours - Jennie Kermode - 16111
Vanessa Grasse
If there's one characteristic that the vast majority of men convicted of violent crimes have in common, it's that they're violent to the women in their lives as well. For Mary (Vanessa Grasse) the trauma has been particularly severe. Cowed and frightened, forced into things she wanted no part of, she eventually stopped her boyfriend James (Cole Vigue) by setting him on fire when he was sleeping - but after he was exposed as a serial killer and, still alive, made unreachable in prison, the families of some of his victims turned to blaming her for not acting sooner. When we meet her she's done time herself. She's still suffering from paranoid delusions and hallucinations, but she tries to keep them secret because the last thing she wants is to be locked up again. It's time to put the past behind her, to try and live a normal life.

Getting a.

Open 24 Hours Review
Cole Vigue
Having just left prison for setting her ex-boyfriend, serial killer James (Cole Vigue), on fire Mary (Vanessa Grasse) gets a job in an all night gas station. Still haunted by hallucinations, on her first night she begins seeing James around many corners, but there are more dangers in Mary’s first shift than her imagination.

The concept of Padraig Reynolds’ screenplay suggests something more morally complex than your standard issue slasher. He sets up a final girl who isn’t as easy to root for as the genre’s usual heroine, not only did she set someone on fire, but we discover that she has been shunned by the community for simply standing by and watching while her ex murdered several women. This could throw open a lot of ideas; allowing the film to engage with coercive and abusive relationships and the trauma that results from them, the immense pressure...

Padraig Reynolds Brings the Terror with Open 24 Hours this August
Open 24 Hours is the latest film from horror director Padraig Reynolds (Rites of Spring). Focusing on a paranoid and delusional woman, Open 24 Hours takes place at an all-night gas station. Here, Mary (Vanessa Grasse) begins to see tragedies from her past. This title had a few film festival appearances in 2018, including Fantastic Fest. Now, Open 24 Hours is set to show on home entertainment formats. And, this title also stars: Brendan Fletcher (Rampage), Cole Vigue ("iZombie") and Emily Tennant. The film's North American artwork and trailer are hosted here. The trailer shows a hooded figure and so does the DVD/Blu-ray artwork. Hooded in a rain jacket, this villain hovers over an injured victim. Offering two taglines: "pray you never run out of gas" and "welcome to the graveyard shift," the movie poster is haunted by an eerie green light. One of the better horror film posters this year,...

Fantastic Fest 2018 Review: Open 24 Hours, Gory Suspense in a Gas Station
Sometimes a horror movie is so suspenseful that you don't recognize its flaws until later. A midnight viewing of Open 24 Hours not only kept me awake but on the edge of my seat for its entire running time. Director Padraig Reynolds proves that his underrated debut Rites of Spring signaled a solid talent for the horror genre and this film has me excited to see what he comes up with next. Mary (Vanessa Grasse) has just been released on parole. Her dour Parole Officer and best friend Debbie (Emily Tennant) are her only support system as she faces life after jail for setting her serial killer boyfriend James (Cole Vigue) on fire. Haunted by her complicity in his crimes, she experiences a near constant...
