The theme song, ‘Asli Action Chaalu’ from Ayushmann Khurrana starrer ‘An Action Hero’ is performed by Gully Gang signees and leading Mumbai-based rappers D’Evil and Shah Rule and is composed by Parag Chhabra. The groovy track brings to life the well-choreographed action sequences of the film.

D’Evil states, “This has been a very impromptu opportunity. I had to forsake my underground mumbaiya personality and embrace a more mainstream commercial vibe. This has been a novel experience for me but I have experimented with my style and soundscape. Music director Parag Chabbra was impressed with my work on ‘Asli Action Chalu’ and also offered me to jump on another song from the album along with Vivek Hariharan ‘Ghere Mein’. I was asked to play a narrator here in this song.”

Shah Rule states, “The making of our song ‘Asli Action Chaalu’ was a fast moving and thrilling experience similar to this action packed film itself.

Roald Dahl’s Matilda The Musical continues its run of box office joy in the UK and Ireland, topping the chart once again with £2.5m from the weekend.

The Matthew Warchus-directed musical drama, distributed in the territory by Sony, now boasts an overall total of £7.8m, after two weekends out in cinemas.

There is something delectably different about this mass entertainer. It is neatly plotted and to-the-point. It avoids the bullshit element in mass entertainment. The eponymous Action Hero, Ayushmann Khurrana has no family or girlfriend waiting for him after the shooting.

Where does Maadhav come from? Why does he have a British passport(why not a Canadian passport?) if not to escape swiftly after he accidently kills a Haryanvi goon? The slayed goon(menacingly played by Sumit Singh)is well connected. It can’t get any better than Jaideep Ahlaway, can it?

In London, Ahlawat’s Bhoora Solanki is shown to be ruthless in his pursuit of justice for his brother. And yet he lets Maanav slip out of his hands, not once but repeatedly.

A secret fan, perhaps? The breathless plot allows no room for back-story speculation.

The just-released Ayushmann Khurrana-led theatrical film, ‘An Action Hero’, has joined the list of movies registering a dismal opening-day turnout. The film, helmed by debutant director Anirudh Iyer, netted a paltry Rs 1.25 crore on Day 1 of its release, according to Box Office India.

Bollywood actor Ayushmann Khurrana revealed how he convinced his parents to allow him to do theatre during his college days. He said that his parents asked him to score good marks and have full attendance in class and then only would he be allowed to opt for theatre.

He said: “In 11th and 12th I had taken medical Pcb so I had not cleared Cet (Common Eligibility Test) with that great numbers and because of that, I had to take arts. I studied English Honours and wanted to do theatre so my parents put forth a condition.”

The over two-minute trailer starts with a face-off between Ayushmann’s character, who is a star in films and a goon played by Jaideep Ahlawat. Jaideep’s character is searching for another person, also a star, who happened to be murdered and Ayushmann is the key suspect. Later in the trailer, Ayushmann is seen doing some high octane action stunts.

Touted as a slick thriller, the film is directed by Anirudh Iyer, produced by Aanand L. Rai and Bhushan Kumar. It will hit the screens on December 2.

Popular Bollywood star Ayushmann Khurrana (“Gulabo Sitabo”) will star in “Action Hero,” from T-Series and Colour Yellow Productions.

The film will feature an actor’s journey, in front of and behind the lens, and promises slick action and an offbeat satirical sense of humor. This will be Khurrana’s first film in the action genre.

Anirudh Iyer, who has assistant director credits on “Paparazzi” and “Tanu Weds Manu Returns,” will make his directorial debut with the film.

Khurrana previously starred in erectile dysfunction comedy “Shubh Mangal Saavdhan” (2017) and gay comedy “Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan” (2020) for T-Series and Colour Yellow.
