Raymond Rushabiro is an award winning Ugandan actor - Winner Best Actor at the Uganda Film Festival (UFF) 2017 for his remarkable performance in Torture, a Ugandan feature film highlighting the vice of domestic violence in urban Uganda. What would later become Rushabiro's successful artistic career started back in his school days while at the revered Namasagali College. As a student, he featured in several school productions like that of the legend William Shakespeare's classic Julius Caesar as Masinisa, Wife of Pankunku as Namdali, African Princess as a chief warrior among others. In 1997, Rushabiro joined Uganda's theatre guru, The Ebonies; in what became an affair of close to two memorable decades. While at The Ebonies, he starred in numerous roles such as IGP in The Boss, Bwambale in Daisy, a band leader in Dollar The Queen, a teacher in Bibaawo, and as a corrupt police officer in the TV hit That's Life Mwatu. He is also a regular performer in the weekly Ugandan comedy night dubbed Comedycine, with Fun Factory - Uganda's finest and multi-award winning comedy group. Rushabiro, also a spectacular dancer, reaffirmed his acting prowess when he moved to take on a screen role in Badi Films' feature film Bala Bala Sese (2015), his first. He has since continued to wow his followers and film lovers with his iconic screen appearances such as in Tamz Production's The Only Son (2016) as a village elder, Limit Production's Freedom (2016) as an abusive father, Amani House's Nectar (2017) as a troubled spouse, and in Limit Productions' Torture (2017) as a jilted lover. Most recently, Rushabiro made the principal cast of 27 GUNS (postproduction) - an Isaiah 60 Productions biopic feature film about Uganda's 1980s phenomenal NRA liberation war, in which he plays the fallen Dr. Bata. He also stars as Henry, the head of a chaotic family in Fastrack productions' Five At Home (2017), currently showing on Fox Television. And in Jamo Productions' Days To Live (2018), he is in the lead role as Richie, a terminal cancer patient - endorsed by the legendary Kwezi Kaganda as one of Rushabiro's most outstanding performances yet, after the former reviewed just the rough cut at the invitation of the latter. It was only a matter of time that Raymond Rushabiro's ever growing potential would draw interest from abroad, leading to a call from Ghana, where he is currently on set playing 'a foreigner from Uganda' in Messiah Entertainment's 6 Feet of space ; alongside compatriot and longtime art collaborator Anne Kansiime. Watch out for the at it again in their upcoming television dramedie series 'Girl From Mparo'. Adding to his fast growing list of nominations and awards, Raymond Rushabiro was also [alongside several other Ugandan film makers] nominated in this year's edition of Ghana's Africa Magic Viewers' Choice Awards (AMVCA) Best Actor in a Drama, for his role in Torture (2017)
