Exclusive: Amarpal Dhillon and Charles Wahl’s quirky comedy Normal Scotia has been handed a second season.
The series – which is billed as “Letterkenny, but from the perspective of the newcomers” – is set to go back into production later this year after Bell Media streaming network Bell Fibe TV1 greenlit Season 2.
Wahl is co-writing season 2 with series lead Akshay Shirke, who is returning. Dhillon is staying on as an exec producer but is not writing.
Shirke starred in Season 1 opposite Ishan Sandhu, with Sandi Rankaduwa, Misha Bakshi, Dave Rosetti, Ella MacDonald, Raj Selva and Davender Singh Mahli also in the cast.
Dhillon, Wahl and Siobhan Kennedy-Camera are the producers, with Wahl directing.
The series follows a pair of newly landed Indian immigrants who have to learn the many wacky ways of the locals in Nova Scotia, Canada. They work in a large curling club and through their jobs befriend...
