It’s Monday so you know what that means, it’s time for our weekly review of Aew: Rampage! This week’s show aired straight after Collision on Saturday night and, like that show, emanated from Rogers Arena in Vancouver, Candaa. This show featured Tony Schiavone, Nigel McGuinness and Matt Menard on commentary. Now let’s get to the review…

Match #1: Trent Beretta def. Dalton Castle The following is courtesy of allelitewrestling.com:

Castle threw Trent to the mat with a gut wrench. Dalton cracked Trent with a running knee strike, knocking Trent off the apron to the floor. Trent spiked Dalton with a draping Ddt on the apron. Trent and Dalton collided into one another with lariats, both falling to the mat from the impact of the double clotheslines. Dalton Castle slammed Trent to the mat with a gut wrench suplex. Welcome to this week’s review of Aew’s latest television show, Collision, which brings wrestling back to Saturday nights! We’ve got the commentary team of Nigel McGuinness and Tony Schiavone calling the action, so let’s get into the review!

Match #1: Andrade El Idolo vs. Daniel Garcia The following is courtesy of allelitewrestling.com:

Before the match began, Cj Perry walked down the ramp and stood next to Andrade. They nodded and smiled at one another. Miro was watching on a monitor backstage. Fox attacked Swerve as the show was coming onto the air. They brawled onto the ramp. Ar Fox jumped off the stage and landed on Swerve with a crossbody press! They made it to the ring and Fox flipped over the top rope and landed on Swerve on the arena floor, Fox clearly taking the fight to Strickland. Swerve hip tossed Fox onto the ring apron, with Fox’s legs taking the brunt of the impact. Swerve whipped Fox into the steel guardrail.

‘Aew: All Out 2023’ PPV Review
Image
Welcome to this review of 2023’s All Out pay-per-view, which once again emanated from Chicago and the United Center. It was interesting to speculate what the reaction of the Chicago crowd would be given recent events in the company but… any crowd can appreciate a good pay-per-view and this was a good pay-per-view! Let’s see what went down:

Zero Hour Match #1: The Over Budget Charity Battle Royale – Winner: “Hangman” Adam Page The following is courtesy of allelitewrestling.com:

The winner earns $50K to give to the charity of their choice! Tony Nese began the match by doing pushups. He was quickly eliminated. Serpentico was swarmed by Menard, Hager, Garcia, and Parker. They quickly tossed him out. Aussie Open knocked Shawn Spears out with stereo thrust kicks. Brian Cage powerbombed Komander and then the Mogul Embassy hurled Komander over the top. The Boys eliminated Angelo Parker, and then Cage...

Match #1: Samoa Joe vs. The Golden Vampire The following is courtesy of allelitewrestling.com:

The Golden Vampire went right after Joe and rocked him with a rising knee strike. He hit the Gts on Samoa Joe and unmasked — it was Cm Punk!

My Score: 0 out of 5 Match #2: Jay White def. Dalton Castle The following is courtesy of allelitewrestling.com:

‘Aew: Dark’ Review (Feb 21st 2023)
Image
Another week, another episode of Aew: Dark which this week features thirteen(!) matches which -like last week – immediately fills me with dread… Anyway, on with the review.

Match #1: Matt Sydal def. Slim J

My Thoughts: So we’re getting Matt Sydal back with Top Flight And adding Ar Fox to the mix as well? That would certainly seem the case after the end of this match. I hope this “feud” with the Trustbusters doesn’t drag out too long. Mainly because Trustbusters are a waste of time Imho. Still, you have to appreciate how good this match was!

My Score: 3 out of 5 Match #2: Julia Hart def. Devlyn Macabre

My Thoughts: Evil Julia Hart does bad things… In a squash match once again., which will come as no surprise to anyone – especially given the House of Black’s dominance in Aew.

My Score: 1 out of 5 Match #3: The Workhorsemen def.

‘Aew Dark: Elevation – Episode 92’ Review
Image
Welcome back to another review of Aew Dark: Elevation, this week features more main roster names than usual and another 9-match card! We’ve got Tony Schiavone, Paul Wight, and Matt Menard on commentary, so let’s get into the review.

Match #1: Nick Comoroto def. Hagane Shinno

My Thoughts: Interesting to see Comoroto booked as a monster once again, with Shinno booked as the plucky underdog who could not get the big man down. That’s not to say Shinno didn’t put in the effort but it was like watching a fly trying to beatdown a bulldog! Comoroto spent a bit too much time playing to the crowd but still, this was an Ok start to the show.

My Score: 1.5 out of 5 Match #2: Nyla Rose and Marina Shafir def. Kitty Lafleur and Alice Crowley

My Thoughts: Can you say squash match?! This was the usual Nyla/Shafir...

‘Aew Dark: Elevation – Episode 81’ Review
Image
Welcome to this week’s review of Aew Dark: Elevation, the opening salvo in the Aew wrestling week. We’ve got Matt Menard on commentary again this week but… he’s joined by Roh’s Ian Riccaboni(!) for this episode so let’s see what the show has to offer!

Match #1: Zack Clayton def. Conan Lycan

My Thoughts: A pretty decent match from Zack Clayton, who seems to be slotting into Aew nicely. Conan Lycan was a decent opponent, matching Clayton’s size and strength brilliantly. Like Julia Hart, Clayton is certainly going to improve the longer he’s with the company.

My Score: 2 out of 5 Match #2: Nyla Rose def. B3cca

My Thoughts: Well this was a squash, Nyla Rose took like One hit from B3cca before demolishing her with a spear and a Beast Bomb. Marina Shafir cut a promo after the match which went...
