Jewels Brettin first caught the acting bug decades ago in a class at Orange Coast College. Her first project was Spoon River Anthology. She played four completely different characters: a stifling witch, a school teacher in love with her student, a stuttering sixteen year old, and a flirtatious, sassy sex worker.

Jewels completed her AA degree in Film and Video Communications in 2003. After that, she worked as a videographer and an editor for several years. This gave her insight to every aspect of film making from behind the scenes. But Jewels also fell in love with being in front of the camera. Her experience on all sides of film production has given her a lot of perspective about how to approach the industry as an actor.

When not playing intriguing characters, Jewels enjoys spending quality time with the people she loves. She also enjoys travel and her yoga practice. She finds when she has a calm, nurturing mindset, she's best suited to serve in any capacity. She treasures giving and showing care to others. For Jewels, giving is the most fulfilling life activity.

Jewels is always enhancing her craft with continued acting courses, projects, films, and creative writing. Since the pandemic, Jewels has been doing more writing. She's put a film short together. TwiSted FaMilY is scheduled to start shooting in October, 2020.
