Somerville Black is a Toronto-based Production Designer, Actor, and Trainee Assistant Art Director with the Ontario DGC.
Her recent Art credits include 'Homeschooled' (CBC Gem) directed by Gwenlyn Cumyn and Karen Knox, 'Learn to Swim' (TIFF 2021) directed by Thyronne Tommy, and 'Rosie' (TIFF 2022) directed by Gail Maurice.
As an actor, she has received "Best Actress" at the University of Windsor's 46th Annual Film Festival for her portrayal of Elenor in 'Kubric'. Best Supporting Actress 2022, in Kolkata India for "Royal Society of Television and Motion Picture Awards."
Somerville has trained with Samora Smallwood at the Actor's WorkStudio. She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting from the University of Windsor, as well as additional training at the MXAT (Russia), and the Theatre Royal Conservatoire (England).
