Emily Gardner Xu Hall

Emily Gardner Xu Hall is an actor, singer, composer and playwright of Chinese and American descent. She was born in Tokyo and grew up in London, and is a dual citizen of the US and UK. She lives in New York, where she trained at NYU Tisch School of the Arts at the MFA Graduate Acting Program.

Emily writes book, music and lyrics of musicals and plays with music. Works by her include: Untitled Cherry Orchard Musical (Musical Theatre Factory), Cymbeline, I Am This For You (Ars Nova ANT Fest), and Nascent Phase (Bushwick Starr Reading Series). Collaborations include: Untitled Ruth Bader Ginsburg Project (Goodman Theatre Chicago), and The Cardinal (commissioned by Cornerstone Theatre Company), and the Off-Broadway premiere of Nomad Motel by Carla Ching at the Atlantic Theatre Company, which she composed and sound designed.
