Born in Cochabamba, Bolivia, Javier B. Suarez began his film career with appearances in Javier Teran's 'Etreum' and Claudia Siles' 'Can't Do It Alone', as well as in Guery Sandoval's comedy 'The Pocholo and His Marida'. He later secured substantial roles in short films such as 'Double or Nothing' by Diego Padilla and Miguel Urrutia's 'Elmira - Sara's Suicides'. Javier also portrayed a deranged husband on Telemundo's popular court show 'Caso Cerrado'.
His leading role in T.S. Meeks' short film 'Distancia' received critical acclaim and was selected for prestigious festivals including the Palm Springs International Short Fest and the Santa Barbara International Film Festival. Javier's performances have earned him several accolades, including Best Actor at the 48 Hour Film Project in Cochabamba in 2016, Best Supporting Actor at the Filmapalooza Festival 48HFP Global Awards in Seattle in 2017, and Best Actor at the First IberoAmerican 48 HFP Festival in 2018.
In June 2024, his debut feature film as a lead, T.S. Meeks' 'Distancia', won the Best New Director Award at the Brooklyn International Film Festival. The film has also been featured in the Official Selection at the Buenos Aires International Film Festival 2024 and nominated in 6 categories, including Javier's as 'Outstanding Actor in a Foreign Feature Film' at the Edinburgh Film Festival International. Currently based in Los Angeles, California, Javier is actively involved in both theatre and film, consistently delivering performances that resonate with authenticity and emotional depth.
