Irene Esser is a Venezuelan actress and producer recognized for her role as Paulina in El Inmortal and for her role as María Teresa Rodríguez del Toro in the acclaimed series Bolívar (Netflix). She has just starred in Visceral (2024), a Venezuelan feature film that marked her debut as an executive producer and has already garnered numerous awards at international festivals.
After winning the Venezuelan National Surfing Championship, Irene began her career in modeling, being crowned Miss Venezuela in 2011 and second runner-up in Miss Universe 2012. Driven by these successes, she leaped to her great passion, acting. After studying in New York and London, Irene debuted as the protagonist of the series Corazón Esmeralda ( 2014) and Piel Salvaje ( 2015). In 2016, she gave life to María García in the miniseries Poseída.
Her next role propelled her career throughout Latin America: Bolívar: An Admirable Struggle (2019). In this biographical series of the Liberator, Irene plays the General's first wife, Doña María Teresa Rodríguez del Toro y Alayza. An interpretation highly acclaimed by critics and the public, giving life to a capital character in the life of Simón Bolívar.
After starring in films such as El Baile (2019) or Caballero Águila (2022), Irene leaped to Spain with the second season of the popular series El Inmortal. Here, she plays Paulina, a captivating Mexican delinquent with whom one of the main characters falls in love and ends up being one of the main characters in the plot of this second installment of the crime series set in Madrid in the 90s. A role she will reprise in El Inmortal 3, a season to be filmed in 2025, as recently announced by Movistar+.
