Sheila Nortley
Sheila Nortley is an award-winning producer, writer, and director. Hailing from London, Sheila is one of the UK's brightest creative talents behind the camera, with a scope of work that extends internationally across film and television.

As a producer her television credits include Netflix's global hit drama Harlen Coben's Stay Close, starring Cush Jumbo and Richard Armitage, and the superhero drama Supacell for Netflix, created by Rapman.

As a filmmaker, Sheila has written and produced multiple short and feature films, reflecting her passion for storytelling and a desire to tell stories that weren't being seen. Her film credits include Sable Fable, Limbo, Moon Over Aburi and Sometimes I Feel all of which were selected at multiple international film festivals.

Under her Norto Productions banner, she created and executive produced Osoro, a short film in collaboration with Cameron Roach's Rope Ladder Fiction, which is currently being developed into a drama series. Sheila is developing her debut feature script Birdsong, which was selected for the Brit List, with BFI, Film London, and the BBC.

Among her accolades, Sheila won the Woman of the Future Award 2016 in Arts & Culture for her work in film, and in 2018 she became an Associate Fellow of the Royal Commonwealth Society, and she was selected to join the BFI Network x BAFTA Crew in 2021.

Stories are as diverse and unique as human beings are because they reflect our individual lives and experiences, and therefore there are so many different combinations. There are so many different ways to tell a story about love; so many different ways to express pain, feel pain and deal with pain. And when you put it all together, you have a kaleidoscope of different tales just waiting to manifest on the big screen.
