Rebel Wilson's New Show Puts 10 Australian Comedians in a House, So What Could Go Wrong?

Rebel Wilson's latest project, an Amazon series titled Lol: Last One Laughing, already has us cackling into our morning coffees. The six-episode comedy series (which was filmed in 2019) is being touted as a "comedic social experiment" and involves 10 Australian comedians being locked in a house together for a six-hour competition that has no rules. Oh, except one: if they laugh, they're cut.

Each comedian will participate in a series of skits where they can say and do whatever they like, except laugh. If a comedian laughs softly, they'll receive a yellow card violation (just like in football). A second offense will earn the comedian a red card elimination, and they'll be eliminated from the game and miss out on $100,000 cash prize.

Nine renews ‘Doctor Doctor,’ ‘Australian Ninja Warrior,’ ‘Married at First Sight’
Hayley McElhinney and Rodger Corser in ‘Doctor Doctor.’

A fourth season of Easy Tiger Productions’ Doctor Doctor, the third series of Endemol Shine Australia’s Australian Ninja Warrior and the sixth edition of Esa’s Married at First Sight will screen on the Nine Network next year.

Among other shows highlighted at the network’s Upfronts in Sydney were the perennially popular The Block, season 8 of ITV Studio Australia’s The Voice and the second editions of Wtfn Entertainment’s Paramedics and Nine’s This Time Next Year.

Also renewed are ITV’s Talkin’ ’Bout Your Generation, Nine’s 20 to One, Travel Guides and Australian Crime Stories, and Screentime’s Rbt.

Meanwhile ITV Studios Australia’s Love Island Australia will move from 9Go! to Nine as host Sophie Monk introduces 10 singletons who will play the ultimate game of love and lust.

Nine has unveiled its programming line-up for the new year, and with it sees the return of Underbelly.—.this time focused on the .untold, uncut. story of Mark .Chopper. Read.

The series, known as Underbelly Files: Chopper, will be once again be produced by Screentime..

Also coming up for the network is the mini-series House of Bond, which tells the rags to riches tale of the controversial business tycoon Alan Bond. Sam Neill, Rachael Taylor and Adrienne Pickering star alongside Hacksaw Ridge.s Ben Mingay as Bond.
