Riverdale Season 7 Episode 17 Trailer Reveals How Josie Returns
Image
Josie McCoy returns to Riverdale in an upcoming episode for a final appearance before the show ends, showcasing her transition from a musician to a Hollywood movie star. Josie's departure from Riverdale in season 3 was due to Ashleigh Murray taking on a role in the spin-off series Katy Keene, where her character continued her music career in New York. Despite Katy Keene's cancellation, Josie achieved success as a singer and returned to Riverdale due to her father's passing, reuniting temporarily with Josie and the Pussycats and continuing her world tour. Now, her story takes an interesting turn in the 1950s timeline.

The trailer for Riverdale season 7, episode 17, "Chapter One Hundred Thirty-Four: A Different Kind of Cat," reveals the return of Ashleigh Murray's Josie McCoy. Riverdale is currently in its last season on The CW and has been following the gang after they were transported back to the 1950s. The last...

Riverdale: What Happened To Valerie & Melody?
Image
There are several mysteries on the CW drama Riverdale, including what happens to memorable characters Melody Valentine (Asha Bromfield) and Valerie Brown (Hayley Law) as they suddenly disappear from the show. The smart, talented, and passionate characters are members of the band Josie and the Pussycats along with Josie McCoy (Ashleigh Murray). They sing with Archie Andrews (Kj Apa) at times and bond with him over their love of music. While Melody never gets a major storyline, Valerie briefly dates Archie in season 1.

Riverdale has faced controversy for its sidelining of Poc characters, including Valerie and Melody, and actor Vanessa Morgan, who plays one of the best Riverdale characters Toni Topaz, has spoken out against the way Riverdale handles its Black characters. It makes Bromfield and Law's departures from the show even more upsetting, especially considering their great performances in other teen content. Given Bromfield's turn as Zadie Wells on...

Connor Jessup, Emilia Jones, and Jackson Robert Scott in Locke & Key (2020)
The adventures of the Locke family and Key House are coming to a close.

Locke & Key will conclude with its upcoming third season at Netflix.

“Once we began working on the series, we felt three seasons was the ideal length to bring the story of the Locke family and their Keyhouse adventures to a satisfying conclusion,” showrunners Carlton Cuse and Meredith Averill said in a statement on Wednesday.

“As storytellers, we are grateful that we had the opportunity to tell our version of Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez’s incredible story exactly the way we wanted. We’re keeping the magical keys, though, for our own personal use.”

The series has been a breakout hit for Netflix, landing a third season renewal well ahead of its second season debut.

Connor Jessup, Emilia Jones, and Jackson Robert Scott in Locke & Key (2020)
There will be much more trauma for the Locke family before this story comes to a close!

Netflix has dropped the full-length trailer for Locke & Key Season 2, and it teases a lot of big moments for the family.

Dodge is still well and truly a part of the story, taking over bodies and causing a lot of mayhem for everyone concerned.

But Nina Locke has primarily been in the dark about what the kids have been getting up to, and it looks like she'll be getting some answers throughout the second season.

Nina has been none the wiser about many things, but it's clear she can't shake the feeling that more than she's being led to believe is happening.

It also begs the following question:

How will she react to everything that has happened?

"After their father is murdered under mysterious circumstances, the three Locke siblings and their mother move into their ancestral home,...

Riverdale: Ashleigh Murray Previews How Josie's Return Finally Gives Her Character a Much-Deserved Spotlight
Image
Riverdale fans have complained for years that Ashleigh Murray’s character Josie needed more screen time, and apparently, the Riverdale writers heard them… and so did Murray.

Murray was a series regular when the CW teen soap debuted in 2017, but Josie was often sidelined in favor of other cast members, and Murray exited the series after Season 3 to play Josie on spinoff Katy Keene — which was then cancelled after just one season. Murray thought she was saying goodbye to the role for good: “After we did Katy Keene, and it unfortunately didn’t go for a second season, I just...

Riverdale EP Previews Season 5 Return, Jughead Hitting 'Rock Bottom,' Josie and the Pussycats' 'Triumphant' Encore

After nearly five months off the air, Riverdale is finally back on The CW this week… but the gang’s problems haven’t gone anywhere.

Season 5 of the teen drama continues this Wednesday (8/7c) with the first of nine new episodes, and last we saw Jughead… well, we didn’t see him, actually. He vanished from the bunker after taking mind-bending psychedelic drugs, and we worried he might’ve been (gulp) abducted by aliens. Now we know from the Season 5B trailer that Jughead is alive and well and safely on planet Earth, but as showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa tells TVLine,...

Are you ready to return to Keyhouse?

Netflix on Tuesday announced Locke & Key Season 2 would finally receive its debut this October.

While the exact date has not been revealed, it's nice to know the series will be back on the air by the end of the year.

The announcement was made as part of the streamer's GeekedWeek event, which features announcements about its genre offerings.

While fans have been waiting a while for updates on the second season, Netflix did announce last year that it had already ordered up a third season.

“[EPs] Carlton [Cuse] and Meredith [Averill] have built an incredible world in Locke & Key, and we’re excited to have the Lockes return for more in the third season,” said Brian Wright, vice president of overall deals at Netflix in December, while Cuse added:

“We have some incredible adventures in store for the Locke family in Season 3 and could...

Katy Keene Episode 8 Review – Chapter 8: It’s Alright Ma (I’m Only Bleeding)
Noah Baumbach in Greenberg (2010)
This Katy Keene review contains spoilers.

Katy Keene Episode 8

“When a crisis hits, a family comes together…no matter what.”

There’s a great line in Noah Baumbach’s Mr. Jealousy about how a character in that underrated romcom often “knocks on the door of profundity and runs away.” It’s a sentiment that frequently ran through my brain during this latest Katy Keene, an episode that took several moonshots at addressing everything from the importance of chosen families to the necessity of Lgbtq+ acceptance without any actually leaving the stratosphere.

Don’t get me wrong, the series continues to have its heart in the right place. It’s just that last week’s episode felt like such a turning point for the series that to gloss over the aftermath of Jorge and Bernardo’s gay-bashing felt like a cop out. Yes, that storyline provides the impetus for the dramatic...
